Dr. Hager is one of the smartest professors at ECU. He is such an interesting person and loves communicating with students. He expects you to study hard and is very particular about the wording of your answers as it makes a big difference. I would take him for every class, as I have learned more from him than any other professor I've taken before.

This man is an excellent and very knowledgeable instructor but he's almost too smart to teach this class. He should definitely stick to upper level biology classes. He expects you to know a lot more than you already do and tests are definitely not easy.

He teaches science courses, therefore, obviously, you're going to study more than usual. He as a person is funny, nice and easy to approach. Just ask him questions and go to his office hours. ECU offers the pirate tutoring center for help. In a larger class setting he can't be attentive. So make sure to meet him if you take a course with him.

Dr. Hager is tough, but he is honestly a pretty chill guy. He expects a lot but that's due to the nature of the course, & it is often taught at a graduate level as well. Very interesting lectures, he can elaborate well. He really tries to make Biochemistry make as much sense as possible, but it is rough to do in 50 mins and it's a lot to learn.

Okay literally this man is a crazy genius. He usually teaches upper level biology/biochem but I had him for the very first bio and he was way too smart for it. He lectured like he was having a normal convo with you and it was hard to follow. His antics are hilarious though. Tests were hard but he curved them. Try another professor for BIO1100.

Alright, look, the guys got a PhD from UC Berkeley and is the CEO of his own company. He's a straight up genius. He expects a lot out of his students and I feel thats his right. This class is an insurmountable load of work, but you'll learn more than you have in any other class at ECU.

I would not recommend taking cell phys over the summer as I did due to the pace. 300+ pages of material in 3 days. This class is difficult but Dr. Hager however is by far one of the best professors at ECU and I've learned more in this class than any other. If you study every day, read the text book and go to every class/take notes you'll pass.

Dr. Hagar is one of those teachers that you have to take while at ECU. I've learn more in this class than any other class while at ECU. He extremely helpful and intelligent! He knows that most of his students want to go to medical school, so he gives you the information really fast!! Great guy!!! Class is grade on a bell curve with SD!!

One of the most intelligent professors I have ever taken a class with! You WILL learn an insurmountable amt of information in his course. Some students are just lazy & just want to regurgitate the info through rote memorization. However, his test are where you have to apply what you know (a good way to study for the MCAT). Great, great professor!

Cell Phys is by far the hardest class I have ever taken at ECU. Only 2 exams and then a final. Dr. Hager is a great guy and passionate about the subject but the tests are insanely hard. Be prepared to study ALOT and go to class! Most of his questions on the test he takes from the notes.

He is a very good professor. As long as you are willing to learn and do the work, you will be ok. He is very willing to help and tends to go out of his way to for his students. I highly recommend him.
