My biggest issue is that he was not very helpful or approachable. He does not like students to email him questions and is even hard to contact in his office. It's obvious that he doesn't care about students individually. Most days I would leave his class confused and annoyed. If you can't get out of his class, don't skip and only study his notes.

Comment:

His class started out very intimidating with lots of information and an odd teaching style. As the semester went along however, I learned what type of information he deemed important for the tests and it became a lot easier. A lot of students don't like him, but I think if you learn to like and understand the material, his class is very helpful.

Terrible teacher. Wastes a lot of time in class and doesn't teach the material. Tests and homework are very hard. He does not care about his students at all. Do not take his class.

He is a horrible teacher. I learned nothing and spent so much time trying to teach myself. Class is a waste of time because he uses matlab and excel which are not allowed on tests. Homework is impossible and tests are very hard even if they are open note.

Nice guy. Never uses the book because he has his own notes. Teaches a bunch of irrelevant stuff and tests are ridiculously hard. I like statistics and I've never hated a class more than this one. Get someone else.

He is a very good professor. The way he teaches is great and detailed. And also he is really helpful. He has office hours every week. His TA`s have office hours. And also he put review sections to answer students` questions before the exams. And also other than office hours you can go to his office and ask help.

This class requires a lot of studying so be prepared... this isn't your average math class. Definitely do the hw, practice tests online (even though the actual tests are very different), and go to every class. He likes for people to participate in class too... Study and do hw and you'll make a C most likely. He does have a high fail rate tho.

He is a nice guy, but that doesn't help much. He gives practice tests to look at to study by, but those practice tests do not help very much at all. You only need the book for the tables in the back. His class is passable. You almost HAVE to do the bonus work, though. I worked very hard to receive a C. He gives a lot of very unnecessary information

He has a reputation he has to live up to so he makes it harder than is should be. Half the stuff he teaches is irrelevant. Make sure to come to class, do the HW and you should pass with C or B. To get an A, you will have to look cute and be active in class.

He grades really hard. no curves. lots of work. doesn't use book much. He has his own online notes and his own way for doing everything, so if you dont understand his online notes, the book doesnt really help. but his lectures correspond with the labs very well.

Lectures can get boring but are import to completet the asignments. Great guy, very healfful in & out of class. Expect to study a lot of his tests or sit next to an Asian.

Was recommened by advicer, tests are very hard, gives too much information that isn't crucial for understand the process. Yells when no one responds to his questions. Homework was impossible for me to complete by myself, sometimes the information wasn't even covered in class or notes. Don't take.

I'm in the class right now. couldn't have started out better, made a 95.5 on the first test, had a solid A for the first month or so, then the second test came around and it all went downhill from there. going to every class does not help in my case, looks like il scrape by with a C, NOT what i need... avoid

Ok so the person below me must be on something... because this guy sucks! He makes an easy class so hard and complicated! Not worth your time... take the math section, even if not professor is listed... i mean it cant get any worse than old maggy!

He really is a good teacher, if you want to learn the material take him. He definitely makes you think. Just go to class, try to pay attention(it's sort of hard not to), and bring some aspirin and you'll do fine. I'd take him again even though I didn't make an A.

I wasted a good year in this class. And it seemed like just making a D in this class would be a huge accomplishment. I took him a couple years back granted i wasnt the best student then..........but i noticed it wasnt always me and this teacher just make hard material imposible and easy material hard. And i agree with the comment on studying for this class before you even get it because from test to test you dont know what u are going to make even if u think u know the material like the back of your hand
