Comment:

Dr. Hunter is a wonderful teacher that teaches how to be a good primary teacher through modeling. She simplifies complex theories. She is kind and highly skilled. She is one of the best teachers I've ever had, and I have two Master degrees. She is highly respected in the larger community and St. Thomas has been lucky to have her!

Be aware that any information Dr. Hunter gives you may be fabricated. She has a very tenuous hold on facts relating to her own past. She is NOT a Native American. Her mother is French and her fater was Swedish. She does NOT speak or read Ojibwe. She has been known to gossip about people around her.

What a waste of tuition!! This lady is horrible. She makes such a big deal out of the fact that she is Ojibwe. Funny, I met her sisters. She is no more Ojibwe than me. She is pompous, arrogant, and rude. She has the attitude that we should worship her because she has a PhD. Save your money and your sanity. Avoid Dr. Hunter like the plague!

In all honestly the rest of the posts give no justice to this lady. She is Ojibwe, yes, but how her racial character provides any background is ****. Yes she is rather easy, but honestly I have not learned SO much about culture. We live in a multiculture world (DUH). IMHO she taught 2nd grade, and it transpires. TAKE SALLY HUNTER <3

This professor should not be teaching! She is one of those teachers who has the biggest ego because of her ethnic background. First day of class she asked if we had any diversity in the class and pointed out all the "different" people. this was her exact words, "Oh, there's an asian!" (pointing at a student). talks to u like a child. easy class.

She should not be teaching. Period. Condescending, totally set in her ways, disrespectful of the students-- she walked into the classroom three times WHILE we were filling out our end of the year evaluations! Only take a course with her if you want to seriously regret your decision to pursue an education degree, and also expect to learn NOTHING.

Oh, I love Sally. She's more intelligent than you give her credit for. I will agree, she needed to touch on a few more topics than JUST racism. however, she is a sweet woman, and though she tends to think she's still teaching her elementary school kids, give her a break. (She writes WONDERFUL reccommendations)

Dr. Hunter is a good teacher. Any class about racism/prejudice issues will be controversial especially at a conservative Catholic university. Dr. Hunter is a sweet lady and is there to help students out if you have an open mind.

Seems all innocent and sweet, but you quickly realize that isn't the case. I got 100% on all assignments & projects and thought I would have a for sure A, but I made the mistake of disagreeing with her on an issue in class the last week and got an A-.

This course (EDUC 212) is called Human Relations and Multi-Cultural Education. With this professor, it is all Racism. There is alot more to human relations that merely racism. Sexism, ageism, religious descrimination, descrimination baced on marital status or sexual orientation are not mentioned. These need to be mentioned.

By far the worst teacher that I have ever had at any level. She acts talks to you like you are 5 and you can't challenge her in class. She is also a very inconsistent grader.

Dr. Hunter is kinda crazy and loves to be the devil's advocate and argue with you, but you'll learn a lot in her class. She really likes it when you repeat back her exact words, she'll get really excited and say how proud she is that you learned something!
