Prof. Hinata did a great job of making the class interesting. He didn't test on anything he didn't cover. He worked over the harder concepts that involved calculations, such as the frequency of oscillations, with us in class.Those examples were close to the ones he used on the test. Astronomy isn't meant to be easy. I'd take him for another class.

EASIEST class ever...the tests are basically group tests and you learn absolutely nothing about astronomy. make sure to go to class because even though he doesn't tell you, the clicker questions do count for attendance toward your overall grade. only reason I made an 88 was because I missed out on the clicker questions! otherwise super easy A

EASIEST CLASS IN ALL OF AUBURN. Take this class if you like doing absolutely nothing and making an A. I have never put so little effort into a class before in my life. I did not learn one single thing but I don't care about astronomy anyways.

VERY Easy A. The tests are given through a powerpoint presentation and let's just say it isn't quiet in the test-taking room. His english is simply awful which creates some humorous scenarios but makes it impossible to learn. Just look at the note slide shows he puts on Canvas and you'll be golden, but I wouldn't recommend him if you like learning.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Take any other class available!!! His tests don't make sense and are a powerpoint, he wont' answer any questions and you can hardly understand him! DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!

Absolutely HORRIBLE. WORST experience I've had EVER. He is condescending when you ask questions, not helpful. SUPER hard to understand his english. His tests are RIDICULOUS! He gives equations without instructions on how to do them or what the variables represent. The lab is okay, but you don't go outside more than once. TAKE ANYTHING ELSE!!!

Don't take astronomy unless you like being miserable. English is obviously not his strong suit. You are ready to run out of class by the end of it. The lab was really interesting but not enough to make up for this poor excuse for a class. He has tests now and they are hard. It's over random stuff he says in class not really the material. This class stressed me out because the teacher gave us little to no instruction on everything. I definietly did not learn anything. But class is pretty mandatory to get attendance points with the clicker. The group project was not hard but you are kinda walking around in the dark as to his expectations. The lab was just busy work.

This material was way more interesting than bio or chem. Class is mandatory for clicker quizzes, which count for a good portion of the grade. Tests are very easy! The labs were the hard part, so make sure you attend and do the assignments.

The easiest four hour credit you can get!!! Take him for astronomy if you are a non science major! No tests at all only a powerpoint due and Iclicker quizzes which count only for attendance so don't skip class but bring something to do cause you can't understand him. Also lab is harder than class but lab GTA was really good. TAKE IT!!!

Took Hinata for Astronomy. The class is REALLY EASY but he just stands in front of the class and rambles incomprehensibly. It's really boring and hard to stay awake at 9 a.m. Most people just read/study. There are ZERO exams but there is a project at the end which is a cakewalk. Also mandatory attendance b/c there are EASY clicker quizzes daily.

This class is an easy A if you have a clicker, go to lab and do decent on them, and do the project. The class itself is boring and he tries to be a nice guy, but he really doesn't know English or the material whatsoever. Definetly take this if you are not a science major and need a science class.

Easiest class I've ever taken. Going to class is pointless but he gives 'activities' sometimes which you just have to write something on and he gives you full credit. I learned NOTHING and made an A. Lab is pretty easy. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. I never opened it.

Comment:

Took his Summer 08 class and never met him. His TA taught the entire class, and it was impossible. Very difficult to understand what he was saying, and when I went to his office I gave up: he couldn't understand me. I'm still waiting on my final grade, and I think I'll pass, but this has been the most stressful class I've ever taken.

Easy A...if you go. I didn't go about once every week and made a B. But hey i'm not complaining. Its easy enough. The lab's are kinda hard (if your not anywhere near a science major)but they give you lots of points for just doing it.
