Comment:
Prof. Gordley rocks, he is very knowledgeable and experienced in the Illustration field. He will not only show you new ways of doing things, or show you how to improve, but he will also support and nurture your own style as long as quality work is being produced. Very excellent teacher, also has a very good sense of humor. Expect assignments.

Scott is a wicked professor. There will be LOTS of work and he will push you to your absolute limits, but the fast pace simulates the real world of illustration outside of school, deadline to deadline. He will even have lectures on technique if the class needs it. The AnIl program is in good hands with him at the helm.

A good guy. Knows his subject well and makes references to many other subjects. Makes you write a lot. Good if you like that. I thought he was sincere and interested in the students-very humorous and loose but makes you work hard. I learned so much from the class!

One of the best teachers I've ever had. In addition to teaching me technique he took the time to talk to me about what I wanted to do after MSU. Funny but serious when he needed to be. Grades tough and makes you work but it's worth it!

i could spend this entry insulting him with swearing and one sided pity fishing, but it would be a waste of time...he's shown his true colors, he's shown how he really feels about his profession, his school, and his studnets... and personally he has my pity. unless you have pure, raw, professional talent or a ****, avoid him like the plague

Be very very careful. Gordley plays favorites to the extreme Esp. if you are cute & female- flirt with him & you'll probably have the experience everyone else wrote about hereĆ¢€¦ or if you're a fellow with his "wise-guy" sense of humor. In actuality, many students fall by the wayside. Never returns any grades/feedback till it's too late to improve.

He's a great guy, and it's cool how involved he tries to be with the students. I think he's probably one of the most approachable people I know - he won't shoot you down, is funny, and really seems to like teaching. Only downside, he felt unprofessional now and then. But I enjoyed it a lot.

scott's a funny guy, but his personality distracts from his teaching ability. it wouldn't be a problem if he was just a hard grader, but he makes his expectations for assignments so ambigious. you'll enjoy his class nevertheless...

He is very good with students. He is hysterical, and personable from day 1. He makes 8am class managable, and cut our class short by an hour. He grades tough, and technique is as important as the color itself. I worked ALOT & got a B. But the guy is gr8!
