Comment:

She is a hard teacher but she gets your ready for the real world. Stacy is very fair and wants everyone to succeed and she will make sure you succeed as long as you show you are trying! She will also help you after class and is very clear about what to do for papers! I really enjoyed having her for race and ethnics.

Comment:

I was nervous to take a class with this professor due to other student commentaries, however, she was the only option available at the time so I had too. I do not see why anyone would comment negatively. She is clear with expectations and her lecture. Her tests fall in-line with her lecture and your readings. What more can you ask for?

This was a mandatory class for my major and it was the hardest class I've ever taken. I don't think she knows that the level at which she is teaching is not the level her students are on. I can't believe no one made her adjust this class. I truly cried because this class was the only thing keeping me from graduating.

Her Intro to Psych Class was difficult, but passable if you worked very hard, so I tried her again. What a mistake! Now I get the complaints. Readings & Lectures were over my head, papers graded very harshly with very unclear expectations, & so you are guessing, failing, rewriting over & over with poor results. Very Frustrating. Lucky if I pass

Stacy is great, took for intro to sociology, would take her again, IDK what everyone else is talking about, Pay attention in her class, participate, dont slack off and youll do well. She teaches the subject wonderfully, expects a lot out of her students.

I have taken two classes with Stacy and she is by far the best professor at BCC. There are many critical reviews because she is hard in that she expects 100% effort and participation. If show up and do the work you will be happy you did. She pushes you to be the best you can and challenges you in ways that make you grow as a student and a person.

If you want a taste of grad schoolphd work, take her. She's brilliant, tough, but assigns work that is so far over our understanding, it is frustrating, & overly time consuming. Several are commuting to another college - Holyoke - to take this mandatory class elsewhere to avoid her and still graduate.

Comment:

I went to Stacy several times for help when I & many students in the class could not understand what she wanted for her assignments, & while saying she's help, she never did help me. I spent hours trying to figure it out, and was brought to tears over this class. I'll never take a class with her again.

She contradicts herself a lot throughout the semester. She says at the beginning always go to her for help if you need any...don't. She won't give you help she will say this is an assignment I can't help you on which turns into every assignment. So besides her not helping she expects way to much of her students, and grades too critically.

I'm not even sure she understands her own expectations. Extremely difficult to work with. Extremely critical on grades. Not recommended if you can get away with not taking her.

I took her in a class room setting and thought she was fantastic. She expects 100% participation and would actually make you THINK about the material, not just spoon feed it to you. If your looking for a good class with a challenge, take this one.

An awful on-line class. The demands were unbelievable. I plan to pursue my BA in sociology but almost decided against it during this class. I would not take from her again.

Good luck with this one. You may know perfectly well that 2+3=5, but if you don't submit it as 5=3+2 you're going to get it wrong- even though you're right. And no matter how many different ways you ask her about her expectations, you will never know for sure. Take the guidelines she gives you and expand on them as much as possible.

Stacy's online class is very demanding, requiring much more time than my 3 other higher level classes combined. She has a tendency to not be clear on her expectations which makes each assignment a guessing game even though the material is very simple. Also, when she makes corrections she simply tells you that you are wrong but doesn't tell you why

Satcy was one of the most demanding/challenging professors I had at BCC and this was what made her a great teacher. She will expect attendance, involvement, and good work from you, but it all pays of in the end. You will learn a lot in her class.
