I took the course online. I read and did all the assignments, but the tests never seemed to apply to what we read. It didn't have any good application problems to practice with so it was an awful class, the book only has like one application example for everything which is not helpful. I had to work really hard for a low B.

I took this online. Tests are hard. Will argue with you about how you are partially correct but still wrong. I feel the quizzes set you up for failure. No real help your on your own. Worst thing is there is no other teacher to teach it maybe that's where her (I don't care attitude) comes from.

Comment:

She covers all material in the book in class. Homework was mostly easy with all answers straight from the reading. Shes not boring. It was really nice of her to give us sheets to write on for the test. She assigned a 1 page report on vitamins and a 3-5 page diet analysis thing.

Comment:

This course is information based. Nutrition facts are just that; facts. You have to learn and memorize them. Prof. gives a study packet assignment with every chapter, which she reviews at length during the lecture period. Tests are a large part of the grade. If you do the work and study a bit, it's an easy A.

I did not seem to have a single problem in this class. She lets you have a cheat sheet for all your test, and gives you a study guide to fill out. I mean how much more help can you expect?! I took this class on campus, and got an A.

Her tests & quizzes are very hard! I took this online & did not find the book very helpful, waste of money. I mainly used powerpoints & links she provided & there were also some practice tests you could take from the publisher that were extremely helpful. A lot of work for only a 2 credit class. She wasn't helpful when meeting with her either.

She is a very pleasant and funny woman. I really enjoyed her class. For the most part I found everything easy and if I didn't understand a concept she did very well to help everyone understand it. The only thing I didn't like is that she makes you feel bad about eating certain foods even though she doesn't mean to. Overall she was very helpful.

This class is so much harder than I thought it would be! The tests are tricky & there is so much info to learn. She only gives out 600 points total for the semester and 400 points come from the test. so if you do poorly on the tests there's no way to make up for it. Very nice instructor, but not quick to get back to you via email.

Took online. Must read text front to back. Huge amount of work for 2hr course. Gehrig terrible with correspondence; seems uninterested with students' success. Tests are timed, open book, but questions are VERY vague..you can choose the correct answer, and it will be counted wrong. Double check your grades, when you finally can.

Pretty difficult course! She expects you to know a lot! You have to study! Rarely use book, just buy the note packet and use it to study! Never did very good on her exams even if I studied a lot. Usually got a low grade. Shes not very interesting and HATES if you have to leave her class early. Nice otherwise though.

Not a good teacher, does not teach material well and gets off topic easily. Tests are essentially impossible to do well on if you do not have prior knowledge because exam information is not necessarily in the book or in her notes (which come straight from the book). Class averages on tests are in the Low D and F range, terrible.

THIS CLASS IS SO HARD! If you don't know anything about vitamins, minerals and all that other stuff DO NOT TAKE ONLINE!! Tests are EXTREMLY HARD!! Nice Teacher but DOES NOT give hints on what will be on tests! You HAVE TO know about everything in CHAPTERS! DO NOT take with other classes requires an obnoxious amount of time 3-4 chapters @ a time!

She does a great job of helping if you need it. Lectures are a tad boring, and tests are kind of hard, but if you study a lot, you will do ok. This 2 credit hour class did require just as much of my time as a 3 or 4 credit hour class. Definitely NOT a blow off class.

This class was a lot harder than I had planned. For a 2 hour class it demands A LOT of your time. I took this class online. You must dedicate ridiculous amounts of time, as much as BIO145! They tests are closed book/note. They are nearly impossible to pass. I studied for HOURS just to get a B. I suggest another teacher on this one.

I agree -- this 2 hr credit class was MUCH harder than my 3 and 4 hr credit classes! For me the tests did not allow enough time..she wasn't very helpful when I tried to ask her questions (I took the class online)...she just told me I should get ahold of the book publishers?! yeah...
