Worst professor I've ever had in my life. Goes as far out of his way to make problems too long by far adding as much nonsense as he can to try and confuse you. I don't understand how he can have been such a terrible teacher for so long and still have a job.

Unorganized. Takes everything for a joke. Spends more time attempting to play puns with phrases from movies than actually teaching. Explains concepts at a very slow rate so class ends and you do not understand. DOES NOT REPLY TO EMAIL. TOO BUSY TO MEET OUTSIDE OF CLASS.

run i tell you run. This man seems bothered to teach. His monotonous voice is already bad but he comes to class and the lecture is all over the place. He is unorganized, a waste of time. When hiring professors University should take into the fact that students are paying thousands to learn. A PhD does not mean a person can deliver information.

If you take a Physics class with Colbert, you'll have fun in the lab. He requires usually 3 warm-ups a week, which are various problems. If you get one wrong, it's usually an automatic 60% and he doesn't go over the answers. Exams are tedious and hard and he doesn't post or communicate your grade to you until it goes in on JagTrax.

Dr. Colbert is a great lecturer and actually cares for his students. NOTE: You need to read the book before class to understand what's going on. He provides us with everything we need (website, sample exams, warm-ups/hw, specific comments, etc). Just make sure you utilize everything, read the book, and you should get a high grade.

If you read your reviews Dr Colbert, PLEASE PLEASE start going over math problems!!!! How do you expect someone to solve a problem when you havent taught the material?! I have two other upper level science classes on top of yours! You are making this class terribly difficult and Im angry that I spent my money on this.

Do not take this class unless you have prior physics knowledge!!!!! He is very knowledgable in physics but he is not very good at explaining things at all! He does not post grades so good luck knowing your grade before finals!

He lectures vaguely over concepts and goes off on tangents on unimportant material. He does not explain or show how to work out math problems, but expects you to know how to do them in warmups, quizzes, and tests. Tests are strictly over the math problems that he doesn't explain how to do. And tests are 80% of your final grade too so... good luck.

A minor mistake in his lab, on the scale of a single wrong unit on your multiple page lab write ups that you will have to photocopy and turn in each week, is -10 from your assignment. He is VERY quick to fail you if a number or piece of data is wrong-- despite if it is what you genuinely collected.

it is imperative for the sake of your fleeting sanity as a college student that you do not take this man's physics. I have him for lab as well on the same day and there have been times where an absence would cost me 4 different zeroes... his quizzes are graded out of 3 points... miss one question and you fail. Lectures are vague and dull. awful guy

Dr. Colbert is a great lecturer. But just appreciating his lectures won't help you pass. You've got to be on top of the material and he does his best to keep you on top of it with nearly daily "warm-up" homework assignments. However, he first takes up the assignment, and then goes over it so you have no idea where your misunderstandings are.

He doesn't provide easy notes, and I don't think he cares about his entry level classes. He's too stupid to use the D2L and instead uses a website that he never updates. He provides no help and can barely keep up with his own material. Also gives graded assignments every night on material that is on material he hasn't covered.

I probably would not have made it through this course at all without high school AP physics. Dr. Colbert gave us all his lecture notes at the beginning of the semester. The problem is they're terrible. He doesn't go over example problems with real numbers EVER, he only usesvariables. His tests aren't too difficult, however and he is an easy grader.

Professor Colbert lectures through the material be asking the students questions on the material we are trying to learn, speeding through messy and confusing notes, and giving a lot of extra details and trivia we don't need to know. If you have questions, you will have to go and see a tutor for a straight answer as he never says "yes" or "no."

Comment:
If you already have a preliminary understanding of physics, Colbert is ok, otherwise not. Be prepared, his lectures are mostly him going on tangents about derivation that you don't need, and his practice problems do not line up to the difficulty of his test. 1 on 1, he will explain things well, but be prepared to put in a lot of unnecessary effort

Although he's really smart and knows his stuff, he didn't really know how to teach concepts clearly and digressed a lot from the topic at hand. There's also no way of knowing your grade until the end. The tests do follow what he goes over, but he speeds through content and tends to go over unnecessary information. Would not take him again.

Took him for Introductory physics lab, hardest lab I've ever taken in college and this was just for a introductory class. Very tough grader on lab reports, most people struggled to make a 7/10 on the labs. disorganized, unclear on criteria, He grades harshly as if we're all physics majors. DON'T TAKE HIM!!! Take any other lab prof. but this man!!!

Took it over the summer. He really cares about your learning and is always willing to help. Sometimes he goes off on a tangent when answering a question and doesn't always give a straight answer. He is decent at teaching the material. His tests are fair and he tells u the topics beforehand. Study is practice/sample problems, not mastering physics
