This professor sent an email to a student in class, in response to a very simple question, saying that after 30 years of "dealing" with undergraduates, he is retiring, and it couldn't come soon enough, so he could care less about addressing the student's issue in the future. What reward to we get for having to "deal" with him? Horrific professor.

Not a very efficient instructor. Didn't feel like I really learned anything. Attendance isn't required at all so nobody shows up, so his class time is really slow and quiet. Exams are pretty difficult but are open note open book. I would avoid taking him if you can.

What ever the class is do not take him. Everyone needs to stop taking his class so the professor would realize that he sucks! He is the meanest professor who enjoys watching us suffer. Our test average was 69, 2nd test average 73. No curves, no fixing his test to make it fair, nor making the test shorter to let us have enough time. He has no heart!

It's funny that I transferred from another institution, and most professors are like him. I love reading these post because I want to scream, 'WELCOME TO COLLEGE' at these students. A degree shouldn't be a walk in the park, and 99% of professors in HMD are beyond easy. Get real people and welcome to most other higher learning institutions.

Tom Jones seems to be the biggest obstacle of your graduation. Everyone needs to pass this goddamn class to graduate although he never cares about this for 2 decades already. He never tries to help you and wanna you drop this class again and again. Then UNLV would never fire him, because so many of you needs to PASS.

he is the worst prof. i ever had. especially first content of this text book is about why this class is useless. he loves picking up students for asking, and gives them a ticket. if you got answer he doesn't like, you wouldn't get any. i'm really sorry that he's still teaching in unlv. sigh...........

This is by far the worst course I have taken at UNLV. The instructor expects you to basically memorize the book, and tests you on every minute detail from the book. There are no assignments. You are only graded on tests which are extremely difficult to pass even if you study for the expected "5 hours per week.," come on!!! I might have to retake th

Worst teacher I have ever had at UNLV. He thinks that students don't have lives and other classes or work to commit to. Don't take him. The majority of the class fails or drops out. I am shocked UNLV is allowing him to continue to teach.

tom jones is absolutely the most pompous jerk at unlv! he enjoys picking on students in class whenever they even think of questioning his tests (the only grades in the class) and he is a nazi about administering them and never lets you review your mistakes, u never get any feedback! he is only still teaching b/c they fired everyone else!

Fine teacher. Tests are pretty easy if you read the material and are present for guest speakers. Attendance procedure is pretty bad. Silly ticket thing. Easy to get the tickets if you try but don't wait til the end. Expects students to respect him (no talking or coming in late) which is understandable. I'd recommend him.

With no disrespect to Dr. Jones, this is by far the WORST teacher I've ever taken. He doesnt teach you anything and his expectations are that you memorize the entire book word for word. I HIGHLY recommend taking ANYONE else. BTW- a 89.99 is a "B"- thats the way he is
