Only grade is the 4 exams, you are allowed to use a formula sheet which you can write other things on such as questions from a pretest that she gives out. Pretest is similar if not the same as the questions that will be on the test. She goes over everything that is on it and the practice questions that she gives as "homework". No txtbook needed.

I took Professor Muehsam for an independent study ECON4080 class. I had to write a 30 page research paper on statistics. I like writing papers so it was easy. I wish I would have taken some of her other classes. The paper was due the last day of class, she didn't have strict guidelines as far as MLA, APA and graded it fast.

She seems to love teaching and gives plenty of extra credit. Sometimes she moves fast but after youve seen something a couple of times youll be fine.

Very easy class with her, only grade is the 4 exams, you are allowed to use a formula sheet which helps alot, gives practice problems and she does them step by step in class which helps alot. before each test she gives a pretest for you which is very similar to the exam, study that pretest practice those problems and your good on the exam

Your grade is comprised of 4 exams. You are allowed to bring the formula sheet to each exam which you can write whatever you want to front/back. I wrote out each type of problem so I would know how to work it on the exam. She also gives a pretest which is just like the exam. I suggest going to class or you will probably be lost. Overall very easy

So. Amazing. She actually cares about her students and she made a difficult course really fun and easy to understand. She lets you use a reference sheet on the exams which helps A LOT. HW isn't required but is very helpful to do. She's probably the best professor I've ever taken. If you try, even just a little, you will easily pass.

Best professor that Sam Houston has! JUST TAKE HER! If you're not good at math her tests will be little though, but if you do the practice homeworks you will do just fine. Class isn't mandatory, but if you miss one day you will be behind.

I also wanted to list: Gives good feedback, respected by students, and there for you. Even if you don't understand the material in class just do what she does, study that and you'll pass. Pre-tests are similar to exams. Her personality is funny and it shows. She's more like a big sister. She just gets it.

This is hands down the best professor I've ever had!! I finally felt confident in a math course thanks to Professor Muehsam. She's consistent, thorough & makes class enjoyable, even at 8am!!! I wish she was my teacher for all my math classes!! Take her class!!!!!!!!

Good teacher. Her lectures are pretty thorough, and she explains some pretty boing concepts fairly well. This class actually helped with real-life work issues like regression analysis and forecasting techniques, so it was good. If you read and do the work, you will do fine.

Most amazing teacher I've ever had. She was also my scholarship advisor, which really means she was my "on-campus mom". That on it's own lets you know she cares. By far the most understanding professor I've ever had. Sometimes she tends to ramble on about things but thats just part of her char. I would HIGHLY suggest taking her!

Valerie Muehsam is my favorite professor. She is crystal clear to the point, answers questions until you understand. I would recommend her to anyone. Will work with you after class. Very helpful! I learned a lot. She's hilarious. Time goes by fast. Even at 8am. Book is not really needed. I feared this class, but no worries. Take her!
