Comment:
Lafferty is honestly one of the smartest men alive. An executive at NBC met him and based a character off of him, although they renamed the character "Ron Swanson". As a professor he has no match at WSU both in intelligence and hand to hand combat. I would follow this man into the gates of hell if only he would let me have that honor.

Dr. Lafferty is of of my favorite professors of all time. He truly understands what he it teaching. Calm, relevant, up to date, and great taste in film. He has a whole class on Sam Peckinpah.

Dr. Lafferty is one of my favorite professors (honestly one of the best that WSU has to offer). The films that he shows are incredible, his lectures are very interesting, and he is very open to discussion. Buy the book, it's needed for exams. Pay close attention to lectures and films(though I doubt you'll struggle to do so in Lafferty's class)

A man who truly seems to know everything about everything, Lafferty leaves you feeling inspired about the field each and every class meeting. Can't say enough positive things about his classes.

THIS IS THE VERY BEST FILM PROFESSOR WSU HAS TO OFFER! I envy Bill's vocabulary and encyclopedic memory. He is incredibly well-read and makes sure every question is answered in class. Students may say his classes aren't very entertaining and that his exams are tough, I strongly disagree--he expects professionalism in your work and you should too!

A brilliant guy, any of Lafferty's film theory and/or history classes are treats to be in. His lectures are wide-ranging and assume intellectual nimbleness on the part of the student. It helps to be wide-read as a student. Ask questions and engage him in conversation! You'll learn a lot about a lot.

Dr. Lafferty is incredibly smart and a Tom Skerritt look alike. However he tells WAY too many stories and will waste half a class waiting for an answer to a question. Get on with the teaching already, I know the knowledge is in there somewhere...

Comment:
Highly amusing, almost a satire of stuffy intellectualism. The man speaks barely above a whisper, but he's usually worth listening to. In the eventual movie of his life, Tom Skerritt will try to do him justice. Oh, and every American movie is a western. Really... every one. You were right Bill... you were right.

Yes, it is true, Dr. Lafferty is a genious and it is a treat to be in his classes. However, he has a penchant for dry movies and is obsessed with masculinity. He will tell you what he wants you to write about in his lectures, so listen carefully.

Aye, Lafferty's knowledge of the film medium's history is as penetrating as the stare through those disturbingly strong prescription sunglasses he constantly forgets he's wearing as he awaits an answer on the matter of Noel Burch's link to metaphysics

Dr. William Lafferty eats a copy of James Joyce's 'Ulysses' every morning for breakfast. The man has an intellectual arsenal that could (and did) cripple Stephen Hawking. Using lincoln logs Lafferty discovered time-travel at the age of three. LMMM rocks!

Words cannot properly describe a one Dr. William Lafferty. The man bathes in acid and scrubs with a brillo pad. He hunts and kills his food with his bare hands. It is rumored that he has been in 4361 bar fights...and won them all.
