DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. this is not an intro class. I would never wish this on anyone. The reading is ridiculous. The class goes to the minute. You will never understand the readings. You will fail every assignment because he's a pick grader and will find a way for you to fail.

Comment:

One of Whittier College's best professors. He genuinely cares about his students and is always willing to provide help. Assignments aren't too hard as long as you put forth effort (pay attention in class, actually DO the assignments). Definitely shouldn't be hard to get a good grade with Dr. Wallis. (I've taken many classes with him)

Andy is most helpful outside of class, but his ideas are thought provoking and often not easy to find in French textbooks... I learn most from him in his office, his library of books and PDF recommendations, as well as his great Whittier blog! Aussi il est vraiment un expert en francais et politique a la gauche, meme la droite.

Basically, a great teacher and a great guy. I had no interest in the subject of this class. I took it as a precondition of my graduation. Foreign languages are difficult for me. Also, it was an extremely difficult semester. Andy understood this and helped me tremendously. He made the year slightly less hellish than it would have otherwise been.

Hey helpful and kind. Could be a bit more strict with students who try to take advantage of his leniency. A bit conservative (he would never dare swear in front of his class), but a great, patient teacher.
