One of the worst teachers I have ever had. One of the worst and boring public speakers iv'e seen, he uses "umm" literally ever other word. His use of fillers and monatonous voice is one of the many reasons only 1/4 of the class attends lecture. Without a good instructor, I found this class moderately difficult(not econ major). Dont take this class.

We always learned everything we needed on in the Friday discussion sections from the hot TA (Suzanne Davis, sorry guys, she's gone after this semester). I don't see why anyone should have a problem taking this class when I was able to skip 2/3's of the class and get 4.0's on all his tests. Incredibly easy, just go through the practice exams online.

He is a really smart man. I sugest going to the lab and lecture. He sometimes seem as if he doesn't know what he is talking about but he means well and he is very helpful if you have questions. He actually cares how you do in his class.

Dont waste time going to lecture. Go to friday TA sessions and study from that. He drops a test and there is a reasonable curve

Only go to TA sessions not lecture. He rambles about stuff that will never be on tests. Test are only 25 questions. So, if you screw up on a few, your done for

This is not an easy-A class! Forget the actual lectures, only go to the TA sessions, tha's where you learn the stuff for the tests. Do all of the online quizzes, and read the book, tests are much harder than they seem. Final is optional if you do well on first three tests. Hallagan also wears the same shirt + jeans all semester long.

He is an ok teacher as long as you pay attention during the important parts. His TA for my class is really cute. Also, he can basically explain everything that Hallagan said during the week and makes it all seem a lot clearer. But compared to some of the teachers my friends have Hallagan is a good professor

i probably went to lecture twice the whole semester because it was so boring. he is a really nice guy, but pretty unclear. as long as you go to the lab you're fine. thats what i did and got a b in the class.

THe lectures are a hundred times more necessary to go to, that's where you'll learn everything, except the street values of illicit drugs.

I went to class the first 2 weeks...then after that only showed up for tests. He makes it really easy because he posts practice tests/problems on his website for you, just study those for 4-5 hours the day before the test and you should be fine. He calculates grades REALLY WEIRD, thus an A is hard.

Lectures are extremely boring, but the discussion sections are extremely helpful (the TA teaches in 5 minutes what he taught in 2 hours). Most of the test questions come directly off the internet practice tests. The class website is helpful too.

Tests are very easy, practically identical to practice tests. Hallagan knows what hes talking about and is very clear. Discusion session is very helpful, more so than lectures.

I found class was extremely easy as all notes and plenty of examples are online. Its really easy to get a B but fairly hard to get an A as he had odd grading scale that bases every test on a 4.0 scale.Ex: if the median score is a 15/25 on a test its a 2.0 (C).Only 4 tests,no hw,he drops lowest score
