this was one of the best classes i've ever taken at UNLV. it was self-paced so there were only 2 due dates, at midterms and finals week. so you do the class whenever you had time. I finished it in 3 days. it was easy if you did it with the book in front of you all the answers were right in the book! awesome class!! i hate science but it's an easy A

loved this class! by far my favorite science ive had to take. she opens the whole class at the beginning of the semester you get two attempts for every quiz all answers are in powerpoints and book. you have a few disucssion posts to do but only 4/5 test. easy and interesting

I took this class online and was very happy with the course. Everything was available since the first day of class. Very easy to follow course load and grading policy. Buck is a respected professor on campus and you can tell from her work she is passionate about it. Great course. Everything is basically online too. Easy A

Comment:

I took her GEO419 (Medical Geology) class in the spring of 2016. This was the class that defined what career path I wanted to peruse. This is a cross-listed course (undergrads/grads) but she explains this in a way that makes you care about learning. Dr. Buck is very clear with her grading. Very helpful and honest, something rare to find in teachers

Prof. Buck really knows her stuff. She allows you to work ahead if you'd like, and that was really helpful for me. She loves what she teaches and answers questions in a timely manner. If you read the book, you'll pass.

Good teacher! Did mostly everything on my own, so did not communicate with her that much, however when I did email her, she would email back promptly. She sends out reminders often which is nice. Lots of quizzes, but a lot of time to complete them. She releases everything at the beginning of the semester so you can finish class whenever you want.

A lot of stuff for her is already covered by others. It's a solid online class. One thing I wanted to add was that the quizzes and exams have massive amounts of time to complete, so don't worry about having to memorize the book to complete quizzes.

YOU NEED THE TEXTBOOK. 19 quizzes & 5 exams (all based on book), 1 movie & movie quiz, 4 discussions. You can complete this entire class whenever you'd like. Do it all early if you have a light work load, otherwise, stick to the recommended schedule. Very easy class to follow, take it to easily satisfy science and lab credit!!!

Self-paced class. If you are good at managing your time, you can finish before the semester actually ends. It's week 3 in the regular fall semester and I just finished. Very good class, you learn a lot! Take this class!! Easiest course you can take if you need a science credit!

Professor Buck's online Geography 103 class is a self-paced class. She opens every module at the beginning of the semester and provides a due date for each module. There is a bunch of work (it's very easy) but if you complete it early or on time, you will be in great shape. She is willing to assist her students. Overall, she is a wonderful prof.

Professor Buck is amazing! She is one of the best online professors I've had. She gives quizzes on each chapter and offers plenty of extra credit to ensure you get a good grade. She allows you to finish the course as soon as you want to but has set due dates for modules as a way to make sure no one gets behind on their work.

This professor is amazing. She offers extra credit. She has quizzes for each chapter that can be done twice. The test are at the end of every module. There is a discussion for each module. There are 3 due dates. As long as you read the book you'll do fine.

An online course taught the way they should be taught! You can finish the entire course as quickly as you want, but there are due dates to keep you from falling behind. Read everything very carefully to get an A. Dr. Buck allows 2 chances on every quiz, and plenty of time to complete all of the quizzes and tests. There is even extra credit.

Only two due dates for the class, one at mid-semester and the other at the end. Offers an extra credit option if you need it (I did not). Read the book, learning modules and practice questions. Take each quiz twice. Exam questions come from directly from the material. Learned a lot more than I expected.

First off I want to say I am not one to ever add comments on here. Brenda is a GREAT instructor for an online class and I am really glad I took her. You take quizzes twice and the highest scores are kept and she emails you updates on your grade in the class and encourages students to do well. Definitely an instructor to take!

Comment:

I honestly would never take her again. I asked in a discussion board if anyone wanted a study group, she immediately assumed we were attempting to cheat. she is not clear, unhelpful, and overall, rude. I disliked her class more than any class I have ever taken. I highly recommend taking this class with someone who isn't so quick to judge.
