She wanders off topic a lot and her experience is decades old. That being said, she has some conceptual thoughts that are helpful. Read the book. Her quizzes are completed with the help of a group, so that's easy.

Comment:

Professor Jackson's speech class is a good class to take. She is a VERY lenient grader. Even if you suck at giving the speeches, you are very likely to get an A on them. Out of the five speeches, the one she really grades is the persuasive. There are no tests except for the final. All quizzes are open book and in groups. You will pass this class!

Ms Jackson is a VERY sweet lady with A LOT to say. However, she talks a lot about things that are not always on topic. It is very easy to get confused. The class is over-all easy if you show up. Quizzes are in groups. Speeches seem to be every other week. You WILL need the book! Buy it but try not to use it so you can take it back.

she is very friendly! talks too much much about herself and not enough about what you need to know. Did not learn anything about how to give or present a speech in this class. The workload was fine but did not cover any of the work given or explain what needs to be done on assignments. Classes very boring should be a 2 hr class. Gets very easily.

She is great and easy grader on the speeches. Just be prepared to listen ALOT to her talking about random stuff. But i recommend her 100%. her quizes are in groups and open book and you do 5 speeches in total. she gives a great amount of extra credit that helps alot so do all of it and you will get a fabulous grade.

She talks so slow and talks a lot. Not a hard class at all but the speeches were about every other week which got annoying. The final was also incredibly EASY. Not the best professor but manageable because its easy to get that A!

She is really cool. I enjoyed having her class, and bonded with her really well. We woukd walk out together and she would talk about past expirences. I respect her alot wnd learned alot from her. She keeps you up to date on whats happening in thw world. I WOULD RECCOMEND HER 100%

Horrible professor, will make you stay after class if you ask questions to yell at you. Very disrespectful. Gets off topic and ill repeat her self numerous times. If you email her she will talk down to you like you're a child. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Mood changes every other week. Gives a lot of attitude and you cannot ask a lot of questions or she will give you a lecture. Talks about a lot of subjects that aren't relevant to the class. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!

I took this class in the summer so it was faster pace than it would be otherwise. 5 speeches, some HW, group quizzes (open book), a couple super easy papers, and a lot of extra credit. She goes off topic SO MUCH but pretends like it relates to the topic. She grades very easy as long as you do a good job on the assignment. Try and you'll get an A.

I've never had a college professor get off on tangent like this one. I've learned more about the her talking about herself and her own problems than I did anything about speech. She will count your "um" on each speech yet she says "um" so many times throughout her lectures I couldn't keep track. Good luck trying to read her cursive writing...

Talks so so so much. Literally will talk for an hour about something that has nothing to do with the class. A lot of work but she grades pretty easy. She kind of treats you like you're still in grade school and never lets you leave early.

MILITARY/VETERAN FRIENDLY, will work with you. Basic speech class. Gets off topic with lectures sometime but overall a solid class. Doesnt require long speeches, I could have used more time.

Total of 6 speeches-Informational, Demonstration, Persuasive, About yourself, Tribute speech. Group quizzes (Open book), Final has 2 short essay's (she gives you 2 questions to pick from a few weeks before the quiz) She grades easy on ya when it comes to Speeches, as everyone is nervous etc. Cite your sources for papers and P.P. slides. :)

She is a really easy grader. Her lectures go off on tangents but you can do your homework while she is talking. You need to show up to pass the class but her speeches do not require a lot. I would take her again.

Wish I would've dropped. Excessive lectures that go WAY off tangent. Open book quizzes, MONITORS ATTENDANCE, assigns homework and essays. Gives credit for late work, and prepares you well for Final. BEWARE! SHE IS INCREDIBLY CONFUSING AND CONTRADICTS HERSELF OFTEN! Do NOT insert your personal opinion-she'll get mad for not agreeing with her.

Comment:

She is fair with grading, but goes off on tangents in her lectures which makes the class boring. Usually lets out of class right on time, and likes to get into debates. Centers the class more around business, so if your major is something other than that you will find her lectures rather dry and boring.
