Great professor. There were three papers, but she wasn't too harsh on the grammar and things of the like since this was a novel course. I'd hate to have her for 151 though. Very thorough in her teachings and willing to answer any and all questions/concerns you may have. She's energetic and happy, loves class circle discussions. Great class

Dr. Sapora is a wonderful professor, especially for American Novel. She loves what she does, and she ends up making you love it too. If you don't want to do the work for the class (ie. read the books), then don't take it. A few papers, 2 essay tests, one report, and reading quizzes are the grade. And do show up for class, she notices if you don't!

I loved her class. She doesn't assign much, but what she does assign she expects us to work on. This is like the first english class I'm passing with an A.

I don't know what these people are talking about. If you work hard and read, you can do fine. Her tests are hard, but fair. She listens to other points of view, no matter how nutty. She is approachable, kind, knowlegeable and funny.-If she has a PhD she IS better than us.Isn't that why we're here

This class is challenging - don't think you'll be able to skate through. She grades fairly and her teaching methods are pretty good. Sparknotes will be a tremendous asset in this class because the archaic language in some of the readings.

Not only is she a poor teacher she is a rude person. She treats everyone as if they are beneath her.She has no respect for her students and gives this attitude that because she has a Ph.D.she is better than you.

It's really terrible when the students are better writers than the teacher. Don't take any classes with her if you want to learn anything. She concentrates on grammar and word usage (often erroneously) instead of the content of papers.

All you have to do is some readings each week, never too much. Then you have to lead a class discussion, from your seat, and participate in a group presentation. You also write 4 papers, all pretty small except the final is longer. Shes a decent teacher.
