She is an easy grader you'll get a good grade but she goes off of topic and does not explain her assignments. Definitely take her but just be prepared to be agitated. Work is super easy , skipped a few classes.

She's really friendly, intelligent, and accessible. Wants you to succeed, but isn't a super easy grader. She still wants you to work for it. I never participated in the discussion topics and I still got 100% credit for them.

Carol is super accessible if you have to reach her. She has real life experience, but she often talks about herself the whole time. She's hilarious and knows her stuff. This class is constant reporting but you'll gain so much experience.

Comment:
Class is social, often way off topic. Assignments are report and write 500-750 rips. Wish class got deeper into investigative reporting as the title suggests. The book is AMAZING, you will not be selling this one back! Not used for class at all, but read it anyway... trust me on that one. At the 400 level either you know your stuff or don't.

This professor is great. I LOVED her! She's extremely helpful and is always willing to answer questions and explain things until you understand them. She related the topics in class to real life situations which gave students way better of an understanding than the book. She's also really funny! Looooove her.

She's maybe the only teacher I've got this semester whom I don't sit and look at, wondering "How're you still employed?" She's very funny, very nice, and highly energetic, though prone to rambling--some classes it feels more like we're talking about the news than journalism, if that makes sense. I highly recommend her, though.

She took over my class when my other professor was hospitalized. She's awesome! She talks a lot and gets you involved in the class. She obviously loves her job and journalism. I learned a lot from her, even though I only had her for half a semester. She's very friendly, which is great! I would take her again.

Dr. Schlagheck is by far the best instructor at EMU. She is brilliant, witty, helpful, passionate, interesting, fun, energetic and structured. Her class feels like what a real newsy job would feel like. Her assignments are different and outside of the box. Not too may headaches either! If you put effort into your writing, you will get an A.

Carol, as previously noted, is a talkative and friendly lady. She seems genuinely interested in the personal, professional and academic welfare of each student. It's easy to get a good grade in her classes, but you can also learn a lot, and she will provide professional mentorship both during and after the semester.

Wow, does she ever talk fast! She loves her job and LOVES to chat. She's always been upbeat and happy every time I've ever seen her. She's very willing to help with absolutley anything - her class or not. She has incredible ideas about media. I haven't had to take many notes, but do write down those occasional tidbits - they come in very handy!
