Comment:

I had the extreme displeasure of having Mrs. Schmidt as my academic advisor, and it was one of the worst experiences I had in college. She is extremely conceited and shows no support whatsoever unless you share said mentality. She careless crushes the dreams of many, showing no concern for doing so. She is not an advisor, period.

Comment:

For the record, the word I used in my evaluation of Mrs. Schmidt which was bleeped out was nothing profane; I would not resort to that, no matter how negative of an experience. The word I used, spelled out, was S-E-X-I-S-T. That a word such as that would be censored is ridiculous; some Internet censorship is getting out of hand.

She really is a great teacher. I know a lot of people have been writing bad things about her but they probably never attended class or studied and ended up with a bad grade. Her subjects are extremely interesting and she is full of knowledge. I took her again for bsc 202 because I enjoyed her so much and enjoyed that class even more

My least favorite class and professor. She was nice bu one of the worst teachers i have ever had. Class is not mandatory but no reason to take this class. She is an awful teacher and her test are full of mistakes, they are also very hard and she never makes it clear what to study. Re-schedule this class!

If you want to take this class i would recomend a diffrent teacher. She is nice dont get me wrong but she is not a good teacher at all. She is not helpful when it comes to questions about anything! On every exam and online quiz there are mistakes. No one goes to class. Exams are difficult because you have to assume what to study.

Honestly this class would have been good if tought by someone else. She is a nice lady dont get me wrong but she is bad teacher!! She cant answer questions and when it comes to exams they are confuseing and she always has mistakes on them! I would recomend if you want to take this class do NOT take her.

If your not good and science this class isnt that easy! She is extremely ditsy and all she talks about is how much money she has. Her tests are hard because she isnt clear as to what you should study. AVOID this class if you can!

If you're bad at science take this class as your gen-ed. I didn't go to class very often and just memorized the slides the night before the test. Easily got a B and the online tests are very simple.

she is so cute! She is a very nice women however the class is very boring! I thought this would be an easy A but it def is not.. the tests were a lot harder then i was expecting them to be but its doable if you study a lot. material is boring but does actually have to do with real life.

This is the least useful class I've taken at ISU, including COM 110. Seriously, attendance is actively discouraged, as the lectures are online and she adds nothing to them in class. If you have some pep pills and can stay awake, this class is an easy A. In my opinion, still not worth it- take a class you give a damn about.

Okay this class is easy and people who thought it was difficult either are not smart or were super lazy. Carol is kinda dry, but has some really funny moments, cuz she is this cute little lady. Book is NEVER used, and test are completely from her notes which are ONLINE!! like seriously you have to be a pretty lazy or stupid person not to do well!

Possibly the Spawn of Satan. She may be upset that she is not an MD. She doesn't want you to succeed unless you're one of her finest pets. Ended up finding out she wrote something bad on my comittee letter of recommendation for med school. I had to go around her and the committe's back to apply. Got accepted on my own! Be very careful with her.

She split the lectures with Capparella, and hers were AWFUL. She is by far the most boring lecturer I have ever had. She sounds like she is constantly depressed. Impossible to stay awake in her lectures, even if you like biology. Her notes were far less informative than Capparella also.

i hate her!!! I go in for a question... she isnt helpful in the least. She told me to take a class that would have put me behind an extra semester if I hadn't caught the error. I even had to call someone in the bio field that wasnt an advisor just to get the info i needed. She is AWFUL!!!

Comment:

The trick to Dr. Scmidt is to see her as often as possible. The more you see her and chat (and brown nose) with her the more helpful she is to you. If you become buddy-buddy with her she can help you more than almost anyone else you'll talk to. (i.e. overrides for classes, recommendations etc.)
