Comment:

Lynch has to be my favorite professor. Ive taken him for all his 3 classes and Ive leaned so much more than other courses. Although not the easiest professor, he genuinely just wants you to learn and dedicate yourself. Pop quizzes and open ended exams are tedious but pay attention, do the reading, get your fingers ready and play your part.

Comment:

He is a very hard professor, but he is very good at what he does. He knows what he is talking about and it is a pleasure to learn from him. You definitely have to read everything he assigns and know how to deeply explain it and connect it to other material. Everything connects to other bigger ideas!

Comment:

Great guy, great teacher. The work isn't too difficult as long as you come to class and have an understanding of what he is teaching. The issue is he wants you to elaborate so much detail in your essays and tests when the class terms are just so broad. Plus he gave us an 8 pg Final paper and a final test in 2 parts. No professor ever made do that.

Lynch is such a caring person, BUT he's extremely difficult. He forgets that there's other classes that people have and the quizzes are all OPEN ENDED. He doesn't believe in multiple choice. I like the guy but when it comes to his class, not so much a fan. GET READY TO STRESS if you plan on taking him.

I decided to take persuasion with Dr. Lynch in the summer, despite everyone's opinion. I'm glad I decided to challenge myself and go through with it. I believe many of the comments bashing Dr. Lynch is unfair. From my experience if you work hard and actually study you will be fine. If you're a lazy individual, don't expect an easy A!

This guy is something else. He's super interesting and makes you really think and work for your grade. However, he needs to understand that his class is not the only priority, he gives out so much work I found myself studying and writing essays all the time which is expected but he comes down on you hard on tests and quizzes. Attendance is needed.

Lynch has got to be, without a doubt, the toughest professor to take in the Comm department at Kean. But honestly, even after failing his class first time around and retaking it only to get a C, I love the guy. Sure the class is SUPER hard, sure it's boring, sure the exams are rough. But he's ALWAYS willing to help if you're willing to ask for help

I am reading all of these comments about Dr. Lynch and honestly it sounds like theyre from people who are expecting to do nothing and get something out of the class. Half way through the semester I got super sick and was out for two classes. Lynch was more than understanding and even helped me to get notes so I could study for the midterm.

I took this course as an elective for my major, he is the most disorganized professor please do not go into his office. It is disgusting, plants everywhere, papers, films, he is so messy and expects his students to be perfect. He says a C is an average grade and he is happy with that, constant reading, papers, assignments extremely harsh grader.

I had him for Winter'19 session. The class itself was a little tough because it only lasted for 2 weeks. We were given a few in class quizzes, a 8 page research paper and a in class final exam. This class requires participation and listening. The professor is very nice it's just the class might be time consuming with the all the work he gives out.

Tighten your wig and be ready for battle. He is THE toughest professor, but his class is passable. Honestly, the people that failed 4 or so times just don't put the work in. You have to pull out all the stops :do late nights and flash cards. He is a sweet guy I'm tired of people discrediting his person, just because he expects more of his students.

Lynch is an amazing prof! The course itself is one of the hardest courses at the University, but his lectures are funny and leave you thinking about things in a totally different way. He really cares about his students and is willing to help you gain an understanding on the subject.

Prof Lynch is the sweetest most understanding prof. Hes a fair grader. Dont just take notes from the board, listen to what he says. Hes more than willing to help with papers, and if you work hard, hell acknowledge it. Keep on top of readings, take good notes and review them, and participate. Youll learn a lot from him!

Do yourself a favor and take this class at the other campus. All his exams are open-ended. He's the only profs that doesnt believe in multiple choice. Lynch loves to fail students. The notes he put on the board are a joke, if you write what he puts on the broad on your exam for a question, he'll tell you your answer was too vague, and you'll fail.

A lot of people complained about him but I've taken Lynch for THREE separate classes because he's a true dude and I learned an incredible amount from him. I've never gotten any grade less than a B+ on a paper and I've never gotten anything less than an A as my final grade. Just pay attention and do the work. It's really not that hard.

LYNCH IS A NICE GUY. HE MAKES ALL HIS TEST OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONS AND WANT YOU TO WRITE TWO PARAGRAPHS ON EACH OPEN-ENED QUESTION. THEN WANTS YOU TO LINK YOUR ANSWERS TO ANOTHER DEFINITION. EVEN IF YOU KNOW THE MATERIAL HE WANTS TO YOU CONVINCE HIM IN EACH QUESTION THAT YOU KNOW IT. AVOID HIM AT ALL COST. TAKE THIS COURSE ELSEWHERE IF POSSIBLE.

DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN'S CLASS. He does not know how to teach. His notes are one word on the board. He makes everything harder than it has to be. He is no help when it comes to taking his test. It's not worth the struggle.

I walked away from his class feeling more intelligent and less gullible in a society of alternative facts... If you care to learn like me (older student), you will walk away a different person. He makes you think and what you learn actually sticks. Unlike most courses we take in which we forget everything we learned once we take the exam.

Dr. Lynch is a really nice guy but he is a VERY DIFFICULT PROFESSOR. Do not take him if you're trying to get an easy A because he doesn't believe in those. Textbooks are a MUST in his class and it isn't uncommon for him to make you get 2-3 textbooks for just one class. You'll definitely walk away learning something but be prepared to work for it.

Unorganized notes/lectures; nothing connected. I failed both exams for this. I was expecting to fail, but to my surprise, got much Higher grade! i Had Perfect attendance, raised hand OFTEN to talk, visited his office often with Q's & ENTHUSIASM. I believe that saved my grade. Show interest & make yourself a face he remembers. Dont fade in the back!
