Comment:

Although Professor Samet means well, her lectures are confusing and unhelpful. Her exams tried to trick us and coming to her individually will not clear up any confusion. If you want to pass her class, make sure you have access to a tutor. Lots of people fail her class, make sure to study at least three hours a day.

Comment:

One of the most frustrating professors I've ever had. Although she means well, Professor Samet's teaching style is NOT helpful, she's incredibly conceited about how well she "thinks" she teaches, and she complicates the class by teaching things her way only. Not preparing you for future chem classes, only teaching you HER version of chemistry.

Comment:

Prof. Samet was very fair for chem 141. She tended to avoid tough calculations, which was nice for tests and homework but can leave you inexperienced if you plan on taking upper-level chem. That's the only concern I have with her.. you'll definitely still learn a lot. The homework was online and she graded for completion.

Comment:

Prof. Samet is the sweetest person I have ever met. She is clear in her teachings and never wants her students to memorize things they don't have to. Her tests are fairly tricky and do make you think, but she is an extremely easy grader. She has a genuine interest in her students' lives and wants everyone to do well.

Professor Samet is very nice and does seem to care about her job and students. However, she is not a very good teacher. Her lectures are confusing, her tests are confusing, and homework is on completely different subjects than what she teaches in class. I think she would probably be better at teaching upper level chem, but i had her for 132.

Cindy Samet is not a great teacher. She does not stay on track nor does she teach effectively. She is scatter-brained and unhelpful in class and via email. Unless you want to teach yourself the material, I do not recommend her class.

I recommend that you DO NOT take Professor Samet. Her lectures were unorganized and completely useless. She made things more confusing if you listened to her and if you ask questions, she will barely answer them then get off topic. If you do take her class, you will need to teach yourself basically everything. She is also a horrible lab instructor.

She is a horrible professor. She is not organized and simply writes on the board and talks to herself the entire time. Not very clear or concise in her explanations of concepts. Also, she will mention something in class for 1 TO 5 MINUTES and it will be a major section of an exam or quiz. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU CAN AVOID IT.

The most boring, terrible, atrocious, infuriating professor I've ever had. She IS SO BAD. I can't even find words to describe the educational apartheid going on in this class.

Awful teacher, probably the worst professor at this entire college. At first you think she is nice, then you realize she sucks. Terrible in class, worse in lab. Talks to you like you're a child. Do not take her class, you will learn nothing and she does not teach clearly. Picks favorites for everything, and she will hate you if you are not one.

She is really hard at first but once you start to go to her, she wants to help you and see you pass. One of her tests 50% of the class failed and she thought that was good. Be careful when you think you've done enough, you haven't

Comment:

One of the worst professors I've ever had. Labs were long, tedious, and worthless. Her tests were ridiculous--half the class failed the first one and a quarter barely passed with Ds. If you struggle with the material, she just tells you to practice more problems out of the book. But she's very nice, so it's nearly impossible to dislike her.

Comment:

I am a bio major who needed to take chemistry because it was required. After 2 tests, 10 kids out of 60 had less than a 20% avg. on both. That says something about the teacher. She doesn't teach chem well, yes she knows it well in her head, but can't teach it to students. She is also very unorganized on the board- writing in jumbles here and there.
