Comment:
Dr. Schadler is possibly the hardest professor I have taken, but also the best. He has been at OU for 40 years, and is preparing to retire, to his students' dismay. I just want to say that he is a wonderful professor, an amazing man, and that Oglethorpe -- especially Commencement -- will not be the same without him. Thanks for everything, Dr. S!

Worst Teacher ever, all of his tests suck and are memorization. Do not take his class if you are interested in Biology as a science, he will ruin your interest. If you are premed go ahead and stay in the grinder

I love this professor! Sure, his class is usually really early, but I honestly don't mind. Yes, he lectures us with a lot of info, but it shouldn't be a problem. If you truly work at his class, tests will definitely be a breeze. I rewrite my notes after class cause he talks fast in lecture, so my notes are messy. I don't mind though.

He's great! So adorable. He is so funny. His class is pretty hard unless you have a photographic memory. He doesn't use the book, take perfect notes. He's so smart, ask him anything and if he doesn't know, he'll fin doubt. You'll learn. He's not as boring as they say...

Most boring professor I've ever had. All his classes are early morning, good luck staying awake. Very complicated material & he doesn't make it intesting AT ALL. I used to like biology, now I hate it. The class consists of massive amounts of notes & memorization & the tests are abosulutely brutal. The labs are the only tolerable part of the class.

I liked what an earlier student said: rote memorization. He gives you all the notes you need (usually about 30 pages worth!) and if you can memorize all of them then you are sure to do well. You don't need a book. The class is boring and long. Take this class if you're good at memorization!

You do not need to purchase any books for this class. Dr. Schadler uses his lecture notes, and you just need to write down what he says. Make sure you do all of your lab reports, your grade consists of your lab report grades and test grades; the lab reports can be your saving grace. Dr. Schadler does not baby you, don't ask him for extensions.

Although the material is dense, he presents it very clearly. Tests are difficult due to the sheer amount of information you have to know, but if you are a hard-working student you will be fine. Also, he is very approachable and willing to help explain things outside of class. I would take a class from him again.
