I have both taken classes with Dr. Yull and worked with her as a TA. What makes her classes difficult is that she puts emphasis on particular facts/concepts/etc so if you missed class or weren't paying attention you might struggle on her exams. However, she is almost always in her office and will help you if you need it, she's super accessible.

Dr. Yull is a great professor. She actually cares about her students on a personal level. She's passionate about what she's teaching. There will be a lot of quizzes, however, you'll be fine if you read and study. ALWAYS attend to study hours!!

Terrible professor! She doesn't even teach, she assigns students a ridiculous amount of readings and then has a group of students teach the class each week. Concepts in this class are challenging to begin with, but the fact that she doesn't teach or explain makes it impossible to do well. I was excited for this class but hate it because of her.

I had Dr. Yull for both Politics of Education and Poverty and Discrimination. She is very passionate and knowledgeable. Lots of reading but it is all extremely applicable. Go to her office hours. Share your thoughts. Dr. Yull supports her students to become independent, intellectual, and informed people. She challenges you in a good way!!

Prof Yull is extremely nice. However, she is a little bit unorganized. She gave us a mid-term that was impossible and 20 minutes into the mid-term she allowed everyone to take their notes and text books out...which made it easier but it was a little strange. She was a bit biased but overall I'd recommend her.

Honestly one of the worst teachers. We have snack and thats fun but she doesnt know how to articulate anything and doesnt make sense with any of her discussion questions. She is definitely not suitable to be an HDEV teacher and probably just go back to broome and teach math.

she needed to be seated in a student chair, had not and could not help with homework questions and answer a math problem asked by any student. I strongly suggest not to take her. She can't grade a test properly that she made up. very hard to reach, hides and makes excuses why she was not able to attend a meeting, like my 2 year old baby brother.

The class itself is awesome, the professor needs to work on her skills. Unorganized, hard to reach (email wasn't working for a while when she said it was), but otherwise a nice woman. Assigns like 3 different group projects, which sounds like nothing but is WAY too much. Take the class, but with a different professor.
