Comment:

One of the worst teachers I've ever had. She doesn't teach us anything, she just rambles on and on about her heritage and Puerto Rico. Nice lady, but a horrible teacher. Thank goodness this is her last year teaching here. Once we sat in class for 45 minutes and got through 2 slides of a 33 slide powerpoint. Her test material is unclear. AWFUL.

If you have another option, I would not take her. She reads straight from the powerpoints when she's not going on a tangent. I really haven't learned much history...at all. You watch a couple movies, and you have to do an 8 pg research paper to get an A in the class. She's a nice person, I'm just not a fan of her as a teacher.

Dr. Godwin is ideal of the non-history student! Easy tests--very little reading. And she's far more general than any history teacher I've encountered; as in non-specific (like dates and names, etc.). Good gal. She even curved our test 10 points!

do what you can to avoid this teacher. she has an attendance policy but reads directly from the powerpoint and goes off on tangents constantly. Her teacher's assistant is competely obnoxious and treats us like elementary school students. She doesnt even know the answers to her own tests so she curves randomly. She's irritating, boring, and horrible

Her powerpoint presentations are literally copied word for word from the internet, with no citations whatsoever. She seems to brag every class about how great a person she is, how she's done so many brilliant things. Test contents are always unclear, as the information in powerpoints isn't hers, and she doesn't use them when making the tests. Ugh.

Was very scattered and unclear. She taught on nothing but "HER" work in Florida. Had a class project that really made no sense and was of no help. Tries to use up grant money with trips to useless places and useless pizza parties. Turns in grades late, just a very very unprofessional teacher.

Good teacher, quite friendly. Tests are easy if you've looked over good notes, however the grading system seems unclear with the projects. Seems to be busy too often, but if you don't need help outside of class, a good person to have.

DO NOT TAKE. I don't have enough room on here to write all the reasons why. Scattered, makes no sense, loses things, doesn't respond to emails or phone calls, made a's on tests and somehow got a B in class. You will not know you grade at until after exams, puts all of her work on her teacher's aid, tests are sometimes wrong, should I go on?

Class is pointless- she constantly talks about her own life and makes a "class assignment" out of something of personal benefit to her. Also assigns a major research project for students to do individually but gives no sort of direction or guidelines for it. Never responds to email and is never in her office during office hours. Very unprofesional

Runs through alot of interesting subjects in a survey of Public History. Practically oriented towards actual working situations, draws on own experience to illustrate examples of application of public history uses. Very helpful. Gives study guides.

Lectures are unfocused, repetitive & on personal life. Complains about other profs. Doesn't discuss public hist theory or research. Returned 1 of 4 assignments on last day of class. Doesn't appear to grade all papers. Doesn't respond to e-mail or phone calls promptly. I refuse to take her again.
