Tough class, but very clear in that if you make time with the TA and answer all the questions at the end of the section of lecture notes, you'll pass easily. He also let us answer any questions we got wrong on tests for partial credit. He offers extra credit, but it's really, really difficult. Great guy. Loved learning from him.

totally miserable to talk to outside of class. He is so smart he has no idea how to socialize, makes no effort to help and actually told the class that our whole research paper should be quoted because as undergrads, were incapable of forming our own thought. I could go on....

If you are considering UMKC for your PhD in Econ, I urge you to stay away. This place is a fishmarket. They accept everybody into the program, but don't really care about anyone. There are too many students. Don't be a pawn in their game of heterodox versus Neoclassical. If you are seriously intersted in heterodox, go to UMass, New School, Utah etc

I agree with whoever said "STAY AWAY... FAR AWAY". This guy is an EDUCATED MORON. I have a 3.5 GPA and failed the first exam. You are required to buy a textbook, then show up in class and need a $25 book that HE SELLS YOU, for cash - which is questionable at best. Avoid Lee.

A complete jerk. Lectures are 3-hour long ideological tirades that do nothing to help you understand the material. Exams intentionally impossible. He gets off on making his class the most difficult thing you'll ever experience. I only know 2 people who have received A's, and 1 was a product of a multi-year Soviet-era Math boot camp. Just survive.

I didnt learn a thing from him. all i did was memorize the answers he wanted us to write. just use the lecture notes and go to SI sessions - i got nothing from class. i am sure he is a brilliant economist, but thats not what makes a good teacher.

He does tend to go off on tangents. Be sure to read his notes for tests, and you won't have a lot of problems with the test. He definitely has some great moments of clarity, and you'll learn a lot more from him than Ben Young.

Loves to talk about hetrodox economix to naseau leaving out neoclassical, list terms and formulas without explaining and makes you by his lecture notes for $25. All-in-all the worst class I've had at UMKC.

Prof. has extensive knowledge and love of economics, but does not teach intro class very well. His class is 99% memorization and 1% understanding. If you have a good memory don't be afraid of his class; otherwise it's a little harder.
