Very awkward, however extremely intelligent and knowledgeable. He knows what he is talking about and does want his student to learn, however some people really cant get his vibe. He can be monotone at times, or hard to pay attention too. But if you pay attention well enough, overall he teaches you important factual things.

He lets you take notes in class on your computer. This is helpful because his slides are full of information. He is a nice guy just super awkward. He does not curve his test. There isn't much homework in class besides the 3 short papers. he didn't grade for our class on skill just on if they were done or not.

By far the worst teacher I have ever had in my college career. Fred is very intelligent and knowledgeable. However he is like rain-man and has absolutely no interpersonal communication skills. extremely hard to understand.. Tests are all hand written, no use of scantrons. Grading style is very subjective! AVOID THIS PROF!!!

Do NOT take this class unless it's a required general for your major! I took it because it filled up one of my goal areas. His powerpoint notes are super long and half of the information on them isn't on the tests. Tests are hard. Out of 40 questions on the first exam, I guessed on 10 and was confident in my other answers...I ended up getting a D-.

Possibly the most awkward person ever, in a good way. He is incredibly intelligent and knows what what he is talking about. Class wasn't on the most interesting topic but he explains everything in great depth. Would definitely recommend taking his class!

He has a boring subject and does nothing to make it more interesting. The info is fine, and he knows the material, but I could tune out for the whole class and pick up the information in two seconds.

Simply the best prof @ MSU. His knowledge of movie quotes is impecable. He is a genuinely funny and nice man. Very liberal and shows it. Those who can't do, teach. Therefor liberals teach Political Science while conservatives are in the real world. Fred has taught me many things that will stick with me throughout life, awesome man regardless.

ASK HIM QUESTIONS!He has a lot to teach, but the classes are a whole bunch more interesting if you ask him to explain concepts and give examples. He loves to answer questions about what he teaches, and strongly welcomes it. This isn't a free for all class, but as long as you try (and do your study guides) you will succeed in his class.

Takes a little bit to understand with mild stutter BUT He was wonderful! NOT BIASED at all. Never understood square roots, etc until I took his course. He gives tons of examples and HW that helps you understand the days lesson. Great to answer your questions. What more could you ask for? Be prepared for math! Try not to miss a class!

Very interesting professor. Never met anyone quite like him. EXTREMELY smart man, but very bias and he preaches those biases within the course with little no mention of other side. When he does mention the other side, he makes them sound like horrible, earth killing creatures. Tests are fairly simple, know definitions/events. He falls asleep..

Extremely biased towards the liberal point of view and incorporates it into his lectures. Tears down Conservative ideology when it is extremely unnecessary, his bias honestly takes your mind off of the class and issues that he is talking about.
