Hes the best teacher Ive ever had in my life. If you dont like him, youre just a negative, arrogant person. He gives real life examples, is super fun And interesting. All of his test are online and super easy. Hes the realist person you will ever meet. No filter, no bs, will help you whenever you need, best professor at Siena!

He does not show up to office hours. He will give you homework problems that take him an hour a question. He also never gives feedback.

Comment:

Professor Hofstein is one of the funniest professors there is, but his quizzes are hard for the amount of real material he goes over in class. Most of the lectures are stories about himself.

Comment:

Hofstein was my least favorite professor at Siena. He never responds to emails and makes his quizzes harder than they need to be. He puts questions on the quizzes that don't even relate to the class (ex. personal questions about his life) and some of the questions have more than one correct answer. He also only lectures which makes class boring.

Hofstein is certainly unorganized, no doubt about it. I'm inclined to agree mostly with the review below me. The syllabus changed a dozen times, mainly due to his health reasons. We got a 120 question final (on blackboard) completely out of nowhere. And, the final was worth over 12,000 points, and everything else during the semester was 3,000 total

Comment:

He's FANTASTIC!! Loves his job and tells hilarious stories. Would definitely suggest you take forensic science if you have a choice. He will definitely make you read the text book but he quizzes he gives are easy and so are his tests as long as you read the chapters and listen in class.

I wouldn't recommend him for the science core class. He's crazy in a good way, and if you're not on his good side, you may not get as good of a grade as you would have liked. He's also super confusing with his grading criteria and full of hot air a lot of the time.

This guy has got to go. I cannot believe Siena College employs this professor. He is an actual joke. He sends am email to the class every week at 3 am, and then proceeds to say he is only up until 11 pm. A lecture that would take 30 minutes with a normal prof., takes 1 hour and 30 minutes in Hofsteins class because he tells us stupid jokes.

This class was ridiculously easy. Definitely the easiest class of my life. Hofstein is funny as hell. We literally did not have class during the whole month of April. My grade was so high that if I scored negatively on the final exam, I still would have gotten an A. This is a class I will never forget.

Dr. H always makes sure you know what you are doing in lab. He helps you when you need it and treats us like adults. He grades written lab reports hard, but regular lab reports are easy to finish. Just make sure you come prepared to lab. He hates it when you don't. One of the best in the department.

He purposely fails students, takes off for every minor mistake and gives a ridiculouse amount of homework for a freshman lab course. He will make an example out of you in front of the whole class if you do not hand in an assignment. Look elsewhere if you want a fair appraisal of your work and want to be treated like an adult.

Dr. H is awesome. He needs to learn how to teach small class now instead of a large class, but thats seriously his only downfall. Likes to make jokes,and is awesome for office hours. I had him for last semester and still go to his office hours for help
