Professor Keith is awesome and super accessible outside of class. He acknowledges when things can get confusing and does his best to ease the confusion. He always wants student feedback on how the class is going so he can make the experience better for us. Workload isn't too bad either. I would def take another class with him

Prof Keith is a really nice, funny guy. The course content wasn't for me but he tries to keep it interesting. Very helpful and accessible outside class. He wants to help you do your best. Needs to be more tech adept and use more visuals. Grading scale is a bit unclear. I do wish the course content was more inclusive and diverse.

Professor Keith is an incredibly skilled professor. His class was phenomenal, kept almost everyone engaged and he is clearly passionate for the subject. His lectures are enthralling. Intro to Theory with him was likely the best course I've taken in college, and is the only one to make me actually feel smarter for taking it. Keith is great!!!

Best professor I've had. He can break down difficult ideas into manageable bits, makes information relevant, offers extremely interesting insights, is open to ideas from students and sincerely considers them. If you're an English major, take Intro to Theory and ANY other courses you can with this man. He's also super approachable and cares.

Joe Keith is one of the sharpest professors I've ever had. His lectures can get a little dry on occasion, but for the most part, he keeps it interesting and fun. Tons of reading - some of it pretty tough - but he goes over everything in class and if you pay attention, you'll understand all of it well enough. You'll learn a lot. Highly recommended.

When I first had to take the Intro to theory class I was extremely skeptic. Last semester I had a lot of personal issues that were contributing to a difficult semester. However, Professor Keith was extremely understanding and was willing to work with me despite missing some lectures. He is an absolutely fantastic professor, definitely recommend

Professor Keith is not only engaging but just a wonderful person all around. He's absolutely helpful during his office hours and always willing to help students. The classwork is not that much, and you don't even have to read the text material assigned as he goes over everything in class. The class consists of three 2 pg papers, final & midterm.

Dr. Keith is fantastic! Really engaging lectures and he truly cares about the students. You really don't need to do the readings all the time because his lectures explain the material well enough. Not many assignments - like three 2-page papers and two quizzes. Would definitely recommend.

Joe Keith is the most interesting, intelligent, charismatic professor i've ever had. He's a brilliant guy, and really easy to talk to. This class changed the way i think. I would take anything he teaches. I seriously look forward to his class every week, and I hate most of my classes.

Keith is an incredible professor; every course he teaches is gold. I've taken two of his classes and gotten two As, not because I'm particularly talented in the area (in fact, before these classes I wasn't - at all) but because his style allows me to truly understand and love what I'm learning. Gem of the department. Best prof in Binghamton, by far

I took this class (Cold War), not because I wanted too but because I needed another class. I was prepared to hate it. I was pleasantly and profoundly surprised. Professor Keith is probably the best English professor on campus and hell anywhere. The class was in short amazing. Who knew the Cold War was so interesting?!

Dr. Keith is one of the best teachers that I've ever had! He explains difficult concepts incredibly well. All of the books he selects to read are very interesting. Additionally, he's very enthusiastic. Also, there's only a few graded assignments during the semester, so as long as you keep up with homework and the reading you will do fine.

When I say that my favorite class this term is on the Cold War, people think I'm crazy. Until I tell them Joe Keith teaches it. If Eng majors haven't had him, they've heard how amazing he is. I hear he may leave next semester. If that happens, the school, the department, and I - as a student he has impacted so profoundly - will never be the same.

I learned more in theory than I ever have in my life. The material is difficult. Had it not been for Keith's ability to teach it in a way that made sense, I don't think it would have had anywhere near the impact it did on me. Taking 380 with him now only because I know I'm guaranteed to learn and enjoy it.

Had for ENG310 and ENG380. Reduces extremely complex material to a very approachable level. Humorous and easy to approach, you will not regret taking his class. No need to buy theory book, he gives you all the readings. Take every class he offers.

Theory SHOULD be totally mind-numbing. The readings are often incomprehensible, but then Keith explains them and EVERYTHING makes sense. He is brilliant, funny, and always willing to help. You'll want to go to lecture every day, if not to learn as much as you can from him, then just to stare at him for an hour and a half. He's a beautiful man too.

Keith is a genius, seriously brilliant guy. He's really patient and explains some very dense material in a way that makes sense even to the dumbest kids in the class. He is one of the few profs in the English department that is worth taking a class with. He's also the most adorable man ever. His commentary on his quirks is the best.
