Comment:

Lots of homework but usually gives the questions with the answers in the back of the book and doesn't check for correct answers, just completion of the sections within each chapter. Easy exams, gives partial credit. Genuinely a super nice teacher.

The class is easy. She only teaches the basics. You can't really strengthen your math skills because she only gives simple problems. If you want an easy A then take her, but she will not prepare you for higher math classes. Her lectures are painfully boring, and she gives daily quizzes. Some students goes to class, and leaves right after the quiz.

Comment:

Kelly is great conceptually, she can articulate these higher math concepts into simple terms and that is her stregnth . After the introductory of a section, she will provide HARD examples. If you can get these examples down, you wil be fine as her exams are much easier. Her downside is her attendence, she has some health problems. ASK QUESTIONS.

Comment:

One of the worst teachers I have ever had. When a student tries to ask a question she doesn't allow them to actually finish the question or when you do ask a question she vaguely answers it. She expects you to already know everything and the questions on the quizzes are extremely different from the exam questions.

I understand some teachers have no patience, and/or do not have the ability to competently teach others that are beneath their skill level. O'Connell is one of those individuals, with both of the stated afflictions. I asked her for help, on several different occasions, to no avail. O'Connell has no business being an educator from what I've seen.

O'connel is a great teacher overall but she goes very fast through her lessons, so be prepared to struggle a little of you're having a hard time understanding.

Doesn't always talk clearly, instructions are not always clear or worded very oddly, blocks board as she is writing. Quizzes everyday so if you skip class you miss those too which count towards about 40% of your grade. She would give you easy questions as examples and then throw very hard questions for quizzes that are misleading. Self study occ.

Wouldn't recommend her. Really bad at teacher and is ridiculously slow, like borderline not normal. And she almost ran me over with her truck!!!!

Srsly avoid this teacher at all cost. She isn't knowledgable at all & basically copies everything out of the book onto the board. Daily quizzes & pretty difficult tests since she can't teach. Tests would be fair if we actually learned from her. Most people dropped or had to teach themselves. Overall, worst teacher ever & I hope she reads this.

Instructor Kelly O'Connell missed a full 4 days of the Calculus 2 class. The 4 days she missed, she would always be gone on the week of the test or a few days before the test making the whole class rush before the test. She would go over a lesson a day before the test and expects us the students to know the material for the test. AVOIDS QUESTIONS!

Don't take this teacher. She falls behind and tries to rush through the material even if you don't get it. She asks if you have any questions about the material but she doesn't explain it and doesn't even do the work she makes the other students answer the question for you. She skips steps so you're more confused.

Ms. O’Connell is very structured. She followed the textbook. The tests are straightforward and similar to the assignments. Quizes everyday and they’re related to the notes. There is plenty of time to do the hw. She is very helpful and shows how to do the problems step-by-step. I got a “A.”

She has a quiz every day to keep track of your attendance. She explains everything very thoroughly. And there's homework every day but there's not that many problems. I would very much recommend her esp. if you're looking to actually learn.
