Best teacher I have ever had! She explaines the subject in a way that is so easy to understand, she breaks it down to what is really important, so you don't have to remember a bunch of random facts, she makes the class fun and interesting. An incredible person who cares deeply for her students in class and outside of class. She really inspired me

Laurel is amazing. It's been some time since I've been at school, and she was exactly what I needed to boost me into productivity. She is very smart, really funny, and really wants you to do well. Use her office hours! She really guides you through the tests. Get ready to read, participate and really get into sociology. I highly recommend her!

This is one of the best professors at ICC, she cares about each one of her students and will help you in any way possible. She will make time for you during her office hours, even if it is not about the class your taking. She will take time out her busy day to make you know the material and will help you during the tests as much as she can.

ONLINE: 4 modules each 3-4 chapters discussion board posts for each chapter in the module 2 projects (written essay format) Tests are difficult, no matter how much I read I feel like I missed the topics the questions were based on. 50 questions, 50 minutes multiple choice. Not alot of room for mistakes with such few assignments. Its been tough...

If you're here to get an easy A for a required social sciences credit, this might not be for you. I had to spend more time than I would have liked to for an online class. It's not difficult, just a lot of work in a subject that is too easy to mix up unless you put effort in. You can get an A, but you can't find every test question online.

Really hard class if taken online. Only 2 papers during the semester and 3 tests including the final being one of them. One discussion board a week and pretty easy if you skim the chapter. Tests are hard though make sure you read the chapter really good and do the study guide 60 questions 60 minutes. Responds to emails quickly.

Yikes! I have never done so poor in a class. Granted, I still got the B. There were 3 tests and each covered four chapters. If you are taking this online, get ready to read the book from cover to cover. Her test questions are very intensive. If you do poor on the first test, don't expect to get an A.

This class was fairly easy. 3 exams 2 easy papers and a short discussion board post every week. She is a very good professor and emails back fast with good feedback. If you dont like assigned reading I would NOT advise you take this class online. You have to read the material and learn it yourself on your own time and it requires discipline.

I took Intro to Soc last semester and absolutely loved it! Everything that was on the test was in the notes. She is super nice and really cares about you. As long as you pay attention in class, and study, it's easy to pass.

Laurel is the most personable/approachable professors I have ever encountered and the fact that she teaches at ICC makes me have a much better outlook on community college than I ever had. She inspires me so much to be who I want to be and could describe me to a T and guide me through this semester. 3 her. best soc. teacher ever & so much more.

I went through her online course for this subject. Participation is a part of your grade as homework through the discussion board. She almost always gave feedback on on any discussions and would bring up interesting points to enhance the subject. Exams are a little difficult and found them hard to grade high.

This professor really inspired me to be a better student. She's unbiased to opinions in lectures which is hard to do. I appreciated her care for my participation even though I found her tests to be strenuous. After two semesters with her I would say read as much as you can, and participate. She will notice. Would recommend to any hard worker.

Laurel is extremely knowledgeable and approachable. She is very big into class discussions during lecture, so participate in them otherwise you will get called on even when you're not raising your hand. Reading is extremely important in her class. Most of the information on her tests come directly from the textbook, not her PowerPoints or outlines.

I have a 4.0 and I always work my butt off to keep it that way but with this teacher it is impossible. I failed the first exam after spending hours studying & doing all of the outlines & study guides. When I emailed her telling her that I have never gotten a grade like that before she told me that everyone fails the first exam and to study harder.

By far my favorite professor at ICC. Tests were hard but she makes outlines for each chapter that has basically everything you need to know for the tests. And if you pay attention in class we discuss all the information you need to know for each essay on the exams. She makes the material relevant and interesting, and is always willing to help you!!

The class was a little tricky because professor frautschi was in an accident and missed a good chunk of the semester. But the time she was there she was very understanding and caring about her students. By the end of the semester she could even point out who you were friends with on class. She was very kind and caring and I would take her again.

The requirements for passing the class are simply and easy to follow... She also gets back to you in record time compared to other teachers.
