AVOID AT ALLL COSTS. she is incredibly passionate about history, but rags on about random topics. She's a very sweet lady but should not be teaching. She said the exact answer she wanted for a question on the Midterm, and claimed it needed to be one word and then took full points off and said I needed to be more specific.

She was my first professor at Fordham and a horrible introduction. Talked to her students like 3rd graders, had a tendency to lose graded papers, and on one occasion SCREAMED at me for being late after returning from the bathroom. Some readings were good, but ruined by her lectures on them. There is some obvious senility; time to retire. AVOID.

Meh. She's OK I guess but she's overly reliant on textbooks (she basically just reads out of the book in class)and gets lost in irrelevant sidetracks. She gives me OK grades but she takes points off for ridiculous reasons, and she's really anal about format.

Excellent Professor. She's a little scatterbrained but it is consistently clear that she has a long-standing incredible working knowledge of history, and she is a master of highlighting important events and patterns to emphasize history's ultimate significance. If you do good research and write well you'll get a good grade. Just lovely.

Really great teacher. Shes incredibly knowledgable and just loves loves loves history. She appreciates any interest that you take in the subject and is incredibly helpful. She assigns a lot of reading but it is all interesting and relevent, and you dont have to do absolutely all of it to do well. I took her twice and just adored her both times.

i used to love history, then i took Understanding Historical Change:Modern Europe. she somehow thought it was a great idea to just skip over the entire 19th century. most of her essay topics consist of pure regurgitation of class material, and most require you to watch movies that have nothing to do with the class or topic of the essay

She thought using books that were not like text books but ones that were enjoyable to read. She also had us use academic journals for us to make our own arguments. This is what College should be about not blind reading of text and memorization.

shes a great prof. if you do exactly what she wants on the papers you wil get an A on all of them, and if you do most of the reading (doesnt even have to be all of it) then you will get A's on her tests. shes interesting, pretty funny, and the class goes by really fast. if you just listen to her you will learn alot.

She gives way too much reading! The good thing about her class is that she likes everyone to voice their opinions, so if you have a good group of students it can be fun. She also lets you pick the questions for your essays & exams.

readings are hit or miss, discussion is hit or miss, tests are fair and culled from class suggestions. she is very friendly and approachable in and outside of class. unfortunately allowes students to ramble off topic.
