McRae is a straight baller. The guy is in his mid 70s but still gots da youngster in him. Made many questions on the exam with (lol) in the question when asking about something that was obviously dubious. This guy has major vibe! 5/5 would have him teach me again

So he crams a lot of information into the lectures, but it's worth it. And the classes are super interesting! If you can, take both 1086 and 2240. Easy online quizzes, reports. The exams I found a bit hard, but I was sick for 4 days before I wrote the 2nd final. He's an awesome guy that wants his students to do well.

I took both his first and second year online courses and they were both equally interesting and easy. You do not need to study too much to do well and there is no textbook just information that he types up which is straight from wikipedia. Great class and easy teache.r

this is an online course and there is a LOt of material to learn but neil macrae is very helpful. loves earth sci and knows everything about it, the course is easy as long as you study. the reports are very easy to do well on, he tells you exactly what to do. its a very good and interesting course but you need to read everything in the notes!!!

An online course, but at the exams was very frindly. Responds to questions fast and tells you exactly what he's looking for. This couse is still a bit of a challange if you have absolutely NO science background (but there are reports instead of labs which equal easy marks).

What a fantastic class! I recommend this to everyone. Macrae is a great & fair prof who loves teaching this class. Pay attention to details on the exams though - that'll get ya. There are 3 reports to write, but he tells you EXACTLY how to write them, so there's no excuse not to get an A.
