Had an incident on the day of the final, emailed him and he told me to take it another day. I went in that day and took the final. My final grade was marked incomplete, emailed him about this, later to find out that he never bothered to pick up my final and scolded me through an email saying I never took it. Threatened to fail me. BAD experience.

Cons: very tough grader - pass or fail kind, doesn't really care about the students, boring Pros: open book exams, doesn't keep class the entire duration

No clear grading objectives. Grades based on 2 exams so no room to mess up. If you don't put the thing he's looking for down you don't get credit, doesn't matter he won't care about how you came to the answer. Assigns arbitrary letter grade to essay q on exams so you either get the q right or you don't.

Midterm-2-3Qs, gives arbitrary letter grade, no specific scale, same for final, but open book. One ethics paper, which you either get +,++ or nothing (not sure if this counts for anything bc syllabus says 1/2midterm, 1/2final). Boring, but at least tests are open book (theyre by no means easy though)

Awesome professor and hilarious at times with his stories. Keeps law interesting which isnt easy to do. Take him but beware youll need to read and attend class, but why pay thousands of dollars at Drexel if you arent going to take each class serious.

This class involves two exams and one pass/fail assignment. The exams are open-book but still can be hard. His classes are kind of dull, but he will go over examples that will help you with tests. He is very picky about how and when people speak in class, and has no problem ridiculing you if you don't get it right. Anxious speakers beware.

Orkin is an interesting character. Yes, he doesn't assign homework, yes his midterm is taken home and final is open book but if you're the type of person that really likes to interact and be friendly with your teacher, Neal isn't the guy for you. If you don't answer in the specific format he wants, he makes you look like an idiot.

If you are required to take Blaw, take Orkin. Attendance is not mandatory and the midterm is take home and the final is open book. All other Blaw professors that I know of make their students take the exams in class with no open books.

As far as I'm concerned, Orkin is extremely overated. His class is boring, although he'll occasionally make some sort of sexual reference that gets the class laughing. Grades seem completely arbitrary -- I'm convinced that by the 3rd week of class the guy has already decided which students will get A's, B's, etc in the course. Orkin is generally

Pretty good professor. BLAW isn't easy, but he tried to make it relatable to us and made it easy to get a good grade. I would take him again.

Orkin is okay. He is witty and has a sense of humor, which makes class fun, and I think it's impossible to fail his classes -- if you do poorly on the mid-term and final you'll get a final grade of C.
