I had Mr. Turner some years ago at VGCC. I now hold a MSW. I say that to say, because of him I was able to navigate the 1 subject that stood between me and my life goals. Also, because of him I am able to assist my son with AP Math classes. Math was never my subject; however, he had the ability to take complex problems and simplify them. Thx u!

Very good teacher if you understand algebra. Lectures were straightforward and allowed us to ask as many questions as we had. Tests were more difficult than homework and quizzes, but if you understand the concept it is solvable. He is very open to staying after class hours for tutoring and gives us ample opportunities to boost our grade.

As other reviews have stated, he seems to know the material but has trouble relaying it to the students. I have now taken 2 classes with him and I basically had to teach myself. The only way I could learn was by watching videos online & doing extra work. When people asked questions in class, he would get frustrated. He's not very organized, either.

We spent days going over work until everyone got it, the pace really fits the class and I wish more teachers were like him.

He seemed to know the material, but is not very good at relaying his knowledge back to the students. His tests were much more difficult than the examples he did in class, and didn't seem very enthused about providing helpful study handouts.

He was just very unclear. He may have known what he was teaching but it sure did'nt seem like he was teaching. I had to go to a lower math just to get all he put in my head out. Then I understood COLLEGE ALGEBRA just fine with another professor.

He's boring, but the class is really easy if you understand algebra. He goes over every problem in detail.
