I was a student at ILEA Roswell in 2007, are in Romania and the professor remained in my mind and soul with his lesson in ethics. He is a man that I respect and seek to traaiesc the same principles chiaar harder if you stay above the mud.

Dr. Souryal is a very intelligent professor and knows what he is talking about. The people who post that he is too hard and doesn't make sense just are not trying or paying attention. If you take him, you will learn a great deal. There is no better professor to teach you about the ethics of the CJ system. Take notes, read the book.. you'll do well

If you read the part of the chapter he is going to go over BEFORE class then you should have no problem understanding him in the lecture. He is a very intelligent man and can sometimes come off strong, but he is very passionate about this subject material. all you have to do is listen and have an open mind

I was a grad student and had to take him twice (I had no choice). I did not enjoy his classes at all. If your opinion was different from his, you were wrong. He did not want to hear opposing arguments. He teaches ethics, but chooses not to practice his own teachings. He was not the most difficult instructor, but definitely the most arrogant.

Most of the people on here saying crap about Souryal are most likely immature undergraduates who just want to squeak by. As a CJ graduate student I can say that this was the hardest class I've ever taken. But for those of you who want to be challenged intellectually & grow your mind there is no better teacher. Dr. Souryal is an extremely intelligent man. If you pay attention and really listen to his lectures, he will open your mind up and truly educate you. The lecture topic oftentimes deviates from the subject at hand, but it didn't bother me. Realize when he is reading notes from his book, he is giving hints at what to expect on the exam.

An excellent professor who cares very much about the subject he's teaching. From my observation the students who don't like him are the ones who are too dense to understand the subject matter. He wants students to challenge his opinions and conclusions and will continue intelligent debate as long as necessary.

I believe Souryal has a good heart, he's just very old school. He wants to believe that we actually read each chapter proir to attending class thus he only lectures on personal experiences related to the text. You wo'nt learn from his lectures. He's boring, stubborn,& not so open minded. Just read to pass the exams. Attendance necessary.

If you ask any questions about his points of view he simply says your wrong and we need to move on, but he never moves on to anything that is on the test. This is because he uses his own book and wants to make sure everyone buys it. It is ironic he teaches ethics because he is the most unethical teacher I have had.

Most of the negative comments are from the narrow, rigid minded students. He is one of the first to teach ethics for criminal justice which is essential for all fields in criminal justice. He is one of the most caring professors I've ever met.

Souryal is as liberal as they come. Doom & Gloom, eveything is horrible. He preaches more than he teaches. Uses his own book for Ethics, which I find unethical. Will not allow students to challenge his ideas or premises. Will merely say you are not enlightended enough. The class should be renamed "Liberal Indoctrination 101." Class is huge downer.

The lectutres are filed with mindless drivel, which is actually on the tests. Class did so poorly that he had to curve everyone a letter grade to aviod failing half the class, aviod at all costs.

Yes, he's arrogant. He tries to stick to a moral code. He reviews rt b4 the test, gives answ's to 25/50 questions. He WANTS u to chlnge his methodology, respectfully. He won't know ur name, but he'll know u face. Some tests based ONLY from lecture some from book & lecture. VERY qualified to teach: wrkd 4 UN & continues to educate others wld wide

I transferred into another profs class due to this man! He wrote the book to ethics and sells them to the students! How can you properly teach a class a subject that you think that you know everything about! If he is still there, DO NOT TAKE HIM! You will leave out of the class utterly confused!
