she is very nice, but she doesn't teach. she expects the text to do that thru homeworkâ€"fine, but the text is HORRIBLE. very confusing (and $$). she's disorganized, and doesn't offer much out-of-class help, just 20 minutes before class. lots of extra credit opportunities but doesn't add up to much. got an A and still felt like i don't know anything.

Comment:

Prof. Kelly was really nice and made learning another language bearable. There is a lot of homework and class attendance is mandatory but the quizzes are easy. The tests are difficult but she outlines exactly what will be on them. I would recommend her to anyone anxious about learning Spanish.

Comment:

She's a really good teacher compared to some of those teaching assistants that the school hires from Spain. She teaches you a lot of tricks and hints in learning the language and makes learning Spanish bearable. She gives a lot of HW, her two quizzes are a joke, but her exams are hard. She goes over what exactly will be on the exam though.

Kelly is a nice teacher and it's just a matter of attending class. She takes participation seriously and gives a lot of homework. However, her test isn't so bad if you study. I liked going to her class.

Comment:

Nice professor. All you want from a Spanish teacher is someone that doesn't expect so much from a college student learning a new language. Do your studying and you'll be fine...A is easily attainable in her class. There is homework but it is pass/fail. It is worth 15% of your grade...that's a free 100. Just do the work, get an A or B.

A really nice professor. She is also helpful if you approach her. She tells you what each section of each test is about, which makes the tests a lot easier. She also lets you do extra credit. I didn't like the class, but she was a pretty good professor.

She isn't a terrible teacher, but if you don't really like spanish I'd avoid her. She'll teach things on tests minutes before you take it, and her tests are often confusing and unmanageable. I'd say avoid her, but if you're a gamblin' man take a shot.

She was not helpful at all in class. Her tests weren't easy either and I know a lot of people who were seniors saying it was their hardest class they were taking. She ended up giving me a B even though I don't know how she came up with that grade, but still I highly DON'T recommend her try Brea. I've heard she's good

It wasn't until I got Gomez for 201 that I realized how boring this class was. NICE lady, but pretty monotone, and you do lots of group work which sucks. She's also one of those professors that keep the exams after you get them back, so that didn't really help. She isn't difficult, but neither are some other professors, except they're less boring.

She means well but I didn't really learn that much. I think she's better with younger kids, she had us singing the alphabet and stuff in a college classroom like 6th grade. Between her in 102 and a weak 201 class I got my ass kicked in 202

Nice lady, but a little dry. My only gripe is the group work. Being forced to write group compositions just isn't fair, and your grade kind of suffers. However, easy tests, and obviously if you've taken Spanish before attendance isn't always mandatory. I'd recommend her, she's good enough for me.

Boring for me simply because I've taken Spanish before, but only for 3 HS years. VERY easy, but very boring simply because I already know the material. However, she is a nice woman, and the workload isn't anything to get stressed about. Take it for the easy A if you've already taken Spanish.

Sweet teacher. She's not hispanic, but she's VERY clear. Her assignments are creative, her work is challenging enough, although she grades pretty easily. She's NOT boring at all. I guess because there's constantly something to do. She's awesome. Cute too
