Comment:

Doherty made the class very entertaining in the way he presented the slides. Though it was lecture heavy, participation was common and often got students involved. Tests are harder, you have to really study if you want an A on them. Overall very good class and the weekly readings really weren't bad at all.

Comment:

Only con of this class was the weekly readings from the Set Phasers on Stun book which were basically HF accidents taken place in real life scenarios. Show up to class otherwise because some of the questions on the test relate to materials covered in class which are unlikely found in ppt and book.

Comment:

Lots of lectures. Be sure to take notes that are not in the slides but rather from what he says about the content. He really cares about students and their grades. He is understanding and the labs make the class fun. Overall, class was easy. Make sure you know and understand the concepts and can apply it to the real world

Dr. Doherty is great! He is a passionate and knowledgeable professor with a great attitude towards teaching and helping students. Entertaining lectures and labs help keep students engaged and learning. There are three tests and the final exam, as well as a lab every week and a final project that is pretty unique. I enjoyed the class a lot.

Very good teacher, knows what he is taking about and really goes through the material. Show up for class and take notes, study the notes and you will know the test. A homework every week but it does not take long; reading a short-story and write a short little summary. Strongly recommend taking him.

Really great guy and does his best to keep the class engaged even though the material can get a little boring at times. You just have to really study to do well on his tests but as long as you do, they aren't bad. His labs are also really fun. You can tell he really cares, great professor.

Professor Doherty is amazing! His lectures are fun and he keeps you awake. My class was right after lunch so that was a great thing. He's always willing to talk and answer any questions. His exams are tough! They're the only grades he gives. No homework, except to study for those exams. Study hard!

I once had a conversation with Doherty where he claimed he himself was an easy professor, I disagree. He is a great professor who clearly communicates subjects and what to focus on, which leads to students being prepared for his exams. For the PSY101 summer course, our final grade consisted of 5 multiple choice tests, each with 40 questions.

My favorite professor this year. His lectures could be boring, but he keeps it entertaining by involving the class and being lively. Makes you read a book to go in-depth in the lessons, but very beneficial. Tests are not hard if you listen to the lessons, and review the material. He clarifies if you don't understand and gives good feedback.

By far the best professor I have had yet! He always makes lectures exciting because he is excited about it. There is never a dull moment each class period we laugh at least once. He grades only exams which is why you should study for it however he does have a great study guide for each exam to pass. Not hard class at all.

Nice prof, patient to answer any questions in class (well sometime delays the class schedule) Exams are easy to me, show up to class, listen to lecture and read the textbook and there's an easy A. Most question on the exam are super basic concepts he talked about in class.

Awesome guy really loves his job and works extra to help you pass. During lectures he tells the people who are texting or on facebook to pay attention when he says a test answer that way even if ur not paying attention you'll still pass. Really student friendly.

He is a great professor. He is willing to work with you if you have to miss a test. He does not have an attendance policy. There are 5 tests each worth 20% of your grade. He offers extra credit for doing research or writing summaries on extra chapter. All in all great professor.

Very HELPFUL! he uses power points & you need to pay attention & take notes in order to know anything for tests. the textbook is optional, not many get it, i didn't and still passed with a B but i heard it's helpful. Talks a lot which makes it boring but he's very animated so it's hilarious. Will help you on final project and studying if needed
