Comment:
Before every lab, Steve explains the lab step-by-step and any math necessary for your data. This is really helpful especially considering that 261 is a lot of people's first college lab. Keep up on your lab notebook!! You use this on the midterm and final and without it, you'll bomb both exams.

Cool guy, but not the best professor. Homework assignments are posted a week before the test, and they're of substantial length. Don't put it off or you likely won't finish it. Doesn't post grades, which is annoying. Says we can calculate it ourselves, but rarely gives anything back besides exams. He drops the lowest exam grade, which is nice.

Took his summer course. It will be intense if you haven't had any exposure to chemistry. This course is a constant grind til the end and missing class is highly risky if you want to do well. If you are a slacker and don't put in the effort, do not take this course because you won't make it.

One of the best professors I have ever had. He can be pretty tough since the class is tough itself, but he is willing to help you. He may seem pretty intimidating at first, but he is really just a guy that likes to joke around with his class. He takes the time to answer questions and make sure you know the material and are comfortable with it.

Great professor, he tries to make the class bearable. He is a great guy to to talk to outside of class . If you can get test from his past some of the questions will be similar on the ones he gives you. Gives a lot of homework to work on a week before the test, just be ready for that. There is no homework before that. study notes do well on test.

STEVE IS AWESOME. Guest speaker on campus? Gives ex-credit if you go. LOTS of hmwk (25pts) 1 wk before exams (always fridays) BUT really helps learn the material better! Ch. 17 is awful, but not his fault, just hard stuff. Participate in lecture or hell popquiz you. NO OWL! Will NOT give you answers, instead coaches you along to answer it yourself

Glueckert was always very blunt with what he wanted. His homework assignments are far too lengthy to be able to complete and study for the test all while trying to keep up with other classes as well. I tried VERY hard to get a good grade only to end up with a D. He teaches well, but tests will NEVER be multiple choice and homework takes forever.

Let's start with this-EXPECT HOMEWORK. Start on the end-of-chapter questions as soon as the lectures end and you might have it done by test time. Tests aren't hard per say, but there is no study guide, just 70+ homework problems. The class avg. on tests was very low (think D's). Lab was complicated and at times ahead of the teaching. Do it early!

I had him for only lab section, and it made lab feel so much harder. He did not articulate the information or his expectations clearly, and then is a very difficult grader. I dreaded going to lab because I knew I was going to be confused, and even though I put in the time, I was still lost. I love chemistry but did not enjoy his lab at all.

He is a good teacher if you know your stuff. DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR A SUMMER CLASS!! he always says h doesnt feel bad for us failing because it is a summer class and it is face paced. No chacnes for extra credit.

Loved this teacher! He acted like we didn't know anything going into it. Great for lab as well. He was always helpful, didn't require mastering chemistry, had no quizzes, and dropped the lowest score. Take him definitely.

if lectures and a lot of chalkboard writing is how you learn, then take him. he gives examples and teaches well but theres so much material and so much going on on the chalkboard that it's hard to understand. he knows his stuff. i hate chemistry, so obviously this teaching style isn't for me. he's not a bad teacher though

One of the worse teachers I've ever had!! He is more of an english teach. Just talking and writing on his chalk board forgetting that it's a chem course and you actually have to show problems and examples of equations and ect. He never needs to teach chem again. He doesn't help when you see him he just says to read the book! Terrible!

Good professor, explains things well. Always seems laid back and very approachable. He tries to help any student who puts genuine effort into the class. His tests draw heavily upon his lectures so take good notes, and ask questions.

This class was a breeze. Go to class and take notes and you will do fine. He made the tests straight from his notes and they were a piece of cake. I didn't have to use the book except to do homework which he also grades very nicely.

Well, I am a 4.0 student...or should I say was. I have had a's forever until this class. I'm in it currently and I attend class and still have a c barely. The class average on one test was a 48.. in my opinion that says something about his teaching abilities. I am a math minor and some reason I don't get the math he is doing, but oh well!
