Did not update grades throughout the entire semester, only gave final grades. We read two books, took two tests, and wrote 3 papers. He planned to have us write more papers and do more tests but never followed through. Cancels class with no notice, has gone almost a full week without showing up. Told us he doesn't have a computer at home.

If you want to learn about international politics, save your money and take the classes with anyone but this professor. Trust me! He's very unprofessional. He sleeps in class, comes in late every class, and when he lectures, he discusses unrelated topics leaving the students unprepared for the exams. However, he's a decent guy outside of class.

He is a phenomenal instructor. Unbelievably knowledgeable. You must engage in this class if you are looking to learn. He will not force you to attend or force you to learn. It's your choice. He encourages excellence.

The professor doesn't demand attendance and lectures on subjects relevant to the ideas in class. If you participate and have interest in the subject matter, the class is fantastic. Dr. MacIsaac is incredibly well educated in his field and quite lenient with grades and deadlines. He wants you to know your material by the time you leave his class.

By far the most boring, bland, and average professor I have ever had a chance to experience in college this far. Sure he may know his stuff, but be prepared to hear tons about his background and irrelevant topics. Late to grade papers and hand them back. Leaves students unprepared for exams and the list goes on

He is not a BAD teacher.. however, he is extremely BORING and unorganized. He knows his stuff... I took a class with him once before and made the mistake of taking the class again. I will never take another class with him again. I felt like his class was a WASTE of my money.

I've now had 3 of his classes and am registered for another. If you pay attention in class, take notes on everything he says, and definitely what he puts on the board, and can make the connections he makes, you'll do well on the exams. He does'nt lecture and expect you to regurgitate - he expects you to put the concepts together and explain them.

Took me three times to pass this class which is mandatory for a social science class. took in adp which means 3 hours of him just lecturing, which is not the most interesting thing to listen to. Definitely knows his stuff and is a real smart guy, just don't take the class expecting to breeze through.

He can be a bit scattered at times, but he's not a bad prof. Attendance is nor mandatory, but like most things, if you show up to class..you score better on the exams. He knows ALOT about Asia.

The Professor Lectures Exactly whats in the Exam. Take good notes as the text does not provide info on some case studies / theories he lectures on. The Text good for written paper great reference material. I like this class because he teaches what he test.

I hated this class. I was boring and really hard to take notes on. He doesn't take attendance, but you have to be there to have any idea of what the test will be on. He grades the tests really hard as well. He's pretty lenient on deadlines and tends to push them all back at least once. Unless you already know a lot, you won't get the material well.

This is the type of class I absolutely love. The material may not be the most interesting stuff, but attendance is not taken - I only show up for tests and to turn in papers. He lectures STRAIGHT out of the text, so if you read, you will do just fine on the exams.

Great Class. Interesting Professor. I was unsure of the testing structure unti the 2nd test..then it was too late. I passed with a B but it hurt my GPA. Our class had 2 test and 4 papers. The test only had a few questions (maybe 5-8)and an essay. If you missed a question, well your grade suffered. Grades paper hard!

Total slob- extremely unprofessional and unkempt. He keeps droning on and on about 'hegemony' and other communist ideas he dreams about- totally unfair grading system and unless you ready 100 pgs a night, expect to be completely lost- another one of JU's terrible profs.
