One of the best professors I've ever had. A true gem. Decades of field experience.. Decades of teaching experience. Still sharp as a tack. A wise and enthusiastic woman. Too bad for you guys, she retired this year. YOU WILL BE MISSED

Comment:

Taken this class twice and could not pass. She grades extremely tough, if it's not the precise answer she's looking for you won't get credit unless you cite your source, and even then it's still iffy. If you miss class on a day she assigns homework, she won't accept it for credit (so attendance is crucial!!!)

Class may seem easy at first. But she is a very tough grader. You will get points taken off if you do not answer questions using her exact words and give numerous examples. And this is very difficult to do when she doesn't give you the whole class period to finish an exam with 4+ essay questions.

Comment:

She has a habit of teaching the material for two days, then ranting the next two about something unrelated to the material. If you participate a lot then you're fine, if you don't, then the class suffers. If you doesn't answer her question, then she moves on. I never had test anxiety until this class. She makes it impossible to pass.

Tests are all essay questions. The right answers are based on her opinions and not the book. I finished the class barely with a B and the only way I got that was going to see her before tests to ask questions. Lectures are pointless but the only way to get the homework is coming to class. She won't let you in the door if you are late. DO NOT TAKE.

Great, fun, and entertaining. Three words I would never associate this teacher with. Horrible tests, speaks for long measures of time without being checked for credibility and grades based on her opinion of you. Had to drop this to keep my scholarship.

This was a fantastic teacher. Lectures do not cover the same material as the book, but she will look at related topics during class. If you ask for help, she will give it in a way that lets you think about it and come up with the answer yourself. She is a fair grader, and she will look over your notes before a test to let you know where to improve.

Hands down the worst teacher I have ever had. Her lectures were almost impossible to follow. She will help you but will you make you feel dumb in the process of doing so. Her tests are impossible to pass.

Worst teacher I have ever had She is extremely difficult to follow through lecture, if you ask a question she will make you feel dumb or imply that you are dumb, she gets off task, she excepts you to memorize the book. Very hard grader and tests are hard as heck.

This teacher is nice, but I was not able to understand because she would wonder off on some other topic. She will most likely help you, if your question is up to her standards, otherwise she will let you discuss it with a group member and figure it out yourself.

She is absolutely the worst teacher I have ever had to encounter. Because of her, I had to drop the class and that set back my being able to graduate by a year, because my scholarship ended that semester, and I was suppose to graduate then. She will not help you out, she is very picky, and ive never had a tough time in school until her! do not take

This was by far the worst teacher I've ever had if you like difficult classes then this class is for you. Yes she lets you use notes on the quiz but her list of outcomes never or hardly matched the test , the lectures doesn't help you either. I don't recomed any one to take this course with this teacher

Do not take her for any of your classes. I dropped her class because she is a bad teacher. Her stupid "explain, or discuss" questions have nothing to do with science? She's RUDE, and makes the class SUPER difficult. Horrible teacher

She allows notes for tests, which is the only possible way to pass. Her tests are worded deceptively: "DESCRIBE protein structure-function" means: What are protiens, what are enzymes, what is structure-function, and what is de-naturing. OVER-EXPLAIN ALL OF YOUR ANSWERS. She wants info that she doesn't explicitly ask for.

Wow is she a hard grader! If she can't read your writing, she marks the whole answer wrong, she changes definitions to what she thinks they should be and does not give your tests back (so you can study from them). Shes the head of the bio department and although she is a VERY nice person, I will never take another class that she teaches.

I had her for Gen Bio and Bio Lab, both awful. Impossible tests with questions about things we never discussed in class. A few random assignments that have nothing to do with tests. She lectures EVERY DAY and almost always gets off topic. Very harsh grader. I would not recommend taking any class with her to anyone.
