Professor Williams goes out of her way for her students (her schedule is always insanely busy so any time you get is a blessing). I did not like accounting though and felt that her lectures really were not that beneficial, but her review sessions helped so much.

Very unorganized and all over the place during lectures. She's nice but you have to learn the material on your own or you're screwed. She doesn't explain things super well and can really confuse you because of how chaotic her class can seem at times. I personally wouldn't take her again just because her teaching style is not at all for me.

Dr. Williams is super busy but always has time for her students, it's unbelievable. This class had no textbook so go to the lectures. Really good examples in class. Quizzes and exams are not hard, grading criteria is really clear beforehand.

Amazing professor who is clear about what is expected on exams. Homework is almost guaranteed to be an A and often gives practice quizzes before the real quiz. Replies to emails quickly. Easy to approach when confused. I would recommend her and take her again if I could.

Val is loud. Sit in the back of the class. Other than that she's fantastic. She's helpful and she explains everything very well. I wish I had for financial. Exams are super easy if you study. Also, she encourages students to ask for help and she will answer you almost immediately. She really cares.

My favorite professor at Duquesne. Incredibly intelligent and helpful. I've taken every class I can with her. Wish she taught more or even all the classes. Hard material but easy with her as a teacher.

I took her because everyone said she was so easy. Her multiple choice on the tests really screwed me up. She worded them in such a confusing way. In class, she would do examples but wouldn't explain why she was doing the things she was doing in the example. Overall, I would avoid taking her.

Valerie Trott Williams is the best professor at Duquesne University. She makes the material completely understandable, and relates everthing to her fabulous real life examples. She makes class extremely enjoyable while using her unique accent. Not to mention she is pretty easy on the eyes, which motivates you to study more. Tests are easy!

Professor Willams is a very good professor and knows the material well and is excellent at teaching it. If you do the practice problems and homework assignments as well as attend classes, you should do well. She is very helpful and wants her students to do well.I highly recommend taking Professor Willams for both Managerial and Financial Accounting.

This class is fairly easy. The case studies are more time consuming then anything and she grades them easy. The exams are pretty straight forward as long as you read the book and notes. I would definitely recommend this class.

She is a nice lady if you meet with her one on one. If you don't have a basic grasp of accounting, you will fall behind in class very quickly because she moves fast. Requires hard work and home works take up a lot of time. If you're not good at grasping mathematical equations quickly, and need a slower paced class, don't take her for Financial Acct

The class is very useful! It gives you high level knowledge of how businesses are operated from an accounting perspective. She knows what she's doing. But she just need to respect people more...It's an attitude or personality thing...nothing to do with intellectual/academic achievement. Guess we are not here to make friends with her.

Terrible teacher. I would go to class only to copy the diagrams that she draws on the board, they will be on the tests. Otherwise, you will learn nothing useful from this class. Do not purchase the book, you will not use it.

Financial accounting is the most boring class ever. Thankfully, we were in the Rockwell labs and I had a computer to surf the web the entire class. She seems like she would be a good teacher if she wasn't teaching accounting. Also, it doesn't help my motivation to say we "never need to know this, the computer does it for you."
