Very easy online class. Weekly quizzes and discussions, quizzes are directly based on lecture/reading. One essay but you'll get a good grade as long as you meet all the criteria. Make sure you answer all the questions for the weekly discussions and you'll get a 100%. Unless they changed it, you can access the textbook over UNLV library online free.

Hanks is a difficult professor to have. She is very strict, by the book, and does not allow any exceptions. She does not allow resubmissions before due dates, and you will have at least four things due in that class by Friday every week. Hanks does not try to accommodate unless it's a death in the family, or a serious illness. DO NOT TAKE HER.

The class was fairly easy, seeing as it was online. Assignments were posted in weekly modules and they would include things such as lecture, transcripts, and discussion boards. Class was very well structured so you would learn in the most efficient way possible. I would highly recommend taking her.

For a one credit course, it was a lot of work. Luckily, the work wasn't hard. You do need the textbook because the quizzes are based off the readings. There is about an hour of videos per week which is fair since there are no in person meetings. Overall, she laid out plenty of material to learn about the Nevada Constitution.

Dr. Hanks was wonderful. She made NV Constitution easier to understand. It is lecture heavy, but if you pay attention, you will do well in her class. Her lectures are clear and so is her objective for students. I took this course over summer; it was a one week long course, for approximately 2 hours a day with a break.

Dr. Hanks made the NV Constitutions class enjoyable and interesting. A self-proclaimed polysci nerd, she tells memorable stories that'll help you understand concepts like extradition, full faith and credit, etc. Dr. Hanks is an adorable old woman and I learned a lot from her 1-credit class. I'd gladly take her again if I had to.

She is a little strict in class (no talking) but is really knowledgable. You can ask her any scenario and she can answer. She is an easy grader as far as the homework goes. Throughout class she tells you exactly what will be on your test which makes studying for exams easier. I would definitely take her again!!

Best class as a freshman! I took PSC 101 as a Political Science major and she helped me choose to stay in that major. Simple and easy class, as long as you pay attention and take notes on the emailed print outs. 100% looking forward to taking another class from her!

Doctor Hanks is so passionate about political science that it really shows through her lectures. This class was difficult for me; however, I really enjoyed it. If politics isn't your strong suit then you're going to need to be prepared to do some reading and take excellent notes. You could pass without the textbook but it's not recommended.

Professor Hanks was an amazing professor. I had her in a lecture class but it was awesome and she knew what she was doing. She never lectured past a certain time since she knows how students were like. Her test was tough but if you know your material then you should be all good. Overall, professor hanks was an amazing teacher.

Dr. Hanks is a great professor. Power Points and lectures are clear and she tells you exactly what is on the test. No need to buy the textbook. No homework, just 5 test. Follow the tips she gives you at the beginning of the year to pass the class. Always lets us out early. Class is scheduled for 1hr 45 min... at most spent 1hr 15 min in the class.

5 tests throughout the class, but it's easy. She tells you specifically what's going to be on the test, so just study the PP. Go to class, you sign yourself in daily for points. There is assigned seats. She's pretty funny, so lectures aren't that bad. She finishes early as well, never been in class for the full hour and 45 minutes.

If you get the chance to take professor Hanks do it. I personally have never been interested in anything related to politics. However, the amount of passion professor Hanks has on the subject makes it easy to understand. She lays out everything on the first day of class. You DO NOT need the book. I passed by making flashcards using the power points

Dr. Hanks was by far the best teacher of my fall 2016 semester. I had taken this class before with another prof. and absolutely bombed it. Dr. Hanks very clearly explains the material in her powerpoints and wants everyone to understand it and do well on all exams (4). I loved this class & even considered making it a second major because of her.

Her lectures are very organized and clear. She articulates what will be on the exams and uses a lot of examples in recent politics in addition to talking about today's politics. There are 5 exams which contain only the information since the previous exam and 3 essays which will contain mostly opinion. Lectures always end very early.

She constantly provides conflicting instructions. Her handouts will say one set of requirements, but she will contradict that in class. Then when you ask her to clarify shes rude. Takes points off for things not required, doesn't actually read your papers or listen to your questions. Let her mood dictate the class. Over 40 pages of writing required

She is an amazing teacher. I wouldn't recommend buying the textbooks required for this class because everything you need to know for the exams are all on the powerpoints that she posts online. Just print the powerpoints before class and you are good to go. Also, most of the time class ends 30 minutes earlier.

She posts the powerpoints online for you to write notes on them in class, as she elaborates in detail in person. You miss class, you miss test questions. Textbooks are only worth it if you want to study a little before the test, but otherwise waste of money. Hates phones, but she answers questions thoroughly.
