Comment:

He's a really sweet man, but his lectures were really boring; fell asleep a couple times. Doesn't mind laptops or cell phones. Midterm, final, and 12-15 page paper that he gives you the entire semester to do. Really likes it when students show effort... visit him in his office a few times during the semester so he learns your name. He's cool.

for Intro to PS: He grades you on three things. 1) midterm. 2)final. 3)15 questions [1 page each]. He doesn't care if you come to class. This class is more of a philosophy class than Politics. Talks about Plato and that gang for 75% of the classes. Not an interesting class, but he's just one of those "I dont care" type professors. But kinda helpful

Interesting class and smart man. His jokes are as dry as dust but at least he tries to make class a bit interesting. Exams are an extremely easy format and if you study your notes you can pass it blindfolded.

Dr. Kelly is great but his class is lectures only. If you pay attention and actually listen it is not so bad. He gives a midterm and a final and he study guides are extremely helpful. Also gives a couple of questions that you have to answer from the text book and give it on before the final. I would take him again.

Dr. Kelly is a great professor. Although class is 100% lecture you will learn alot if you pay attention. 2 tests and a book review. Take class if you want to learn about politics of past and present. Would take class again if I had the chance

It's what everyone is saying, he is a huge bore. His tests compromise of essay questions. He is a strict grader, never satisfied with any of my work, so Im either dumb or he is just mean. He never lets out the 2 1/2 class for a break, and talks the entire 2 1/2 hours. My suggestion is do not take him. Boring and bad grader.

hes not so bad...i was skeptical at first but he gives u the terms you need to study so even if ur not paying attention study the terms do exactly what he wants on the paper and you'll be fine! 12-15 pg paper but it was easy you pick your topic one midterm one final everything else is feedback. easy easy easy!

Dr Kelly is the former chairman of the polisci department. A very nice guy, helpful when you ask questions but somewhat prolix in his lectures. He is seemingly never at a loss of energy and keeps talking unless you ask a question that breaks the monotony. His classes are very informative however and his tests quite difficult. But you'll learn.
