Comment:
Dr. Heikes was an awesome professor; our class discussions were really casual and super fun if you participated. She's extremely knowledgeable and has a great mind for philosophy. I don't think she's a hard grader, but you definitely have to put effort into original thought as opposed to summary, because she will dock points for that.

I was a bit worried whenever the class first started about the quality of learning and the level difficulty, but I soon found out that the way she teaches is very clear, and overall the class is a very simple process as long as you show up a majority of the time. Do not take this class if you don't plan on going ever or not doing any homework.

I was skeptical at first at Heikes, but she is a good Philosophy professor (i.e. she isn't ideological). Many stop showing up to logic class after a few weeks, which is a big mistake. Go to class every day and the exams she gives will be a breeze, few studying required. She gives some extra credit at the semester, letting my grade go to B+ to A- .

I very much enjoyed her Intro to Logic PHL-201 class. I highly suggest her, and her teaching style is very clear. Her classes were also very fun, and she has a good sense of humor while keeping to the subject.

Heikes is very knowledgeable, but I would not recommend her if you're looking for an easy A. I had to put a lot of work in to get an A, when my friends with other professors had open book tests .But Heikes will help your grade if you go to office hours and show that you care. If you are wanting to major in philosophy, I recommend her.

easy pretty fun class. i usually skip class if it isn't mandatory but I actually went to this one sometimes. key to a good grade is to agree with her in essays or repeat what she said. shes clear on what she expects and its not much so no real excuse not to make an A in this class.

This teacher makes the tests hard. I studied all week and even went to tutoring. I still failed the test even though I knew the material.

She is willing to help you, if you are willing to make an effort. Take her classes if you like philosophy or are willing to be open to philosophy. She does not tolerate slackers or those who ridicule the field of philosophy. Be serious about the material, and she will make your experience enriching and worthwhile. Great professor!

she is a good teacher. The material is hard to understand so most don't have a chance no matter who the teacher is. Pass by her office and actually take interest in the class and it will pay off.

She divides the class by whom she likes. Parrot her for an easy A. Don't think. Allow her to win arguments. She doesn't know basic PY concepts such as pathos, ethos, and logos. She doesn't seem to have a firm grasp on reality, but instead focuses on idealism. She's emotionally tied to her positions, so be careful or she'll kick you out of class.

I really enjoyed this class. As an engineering student, I was required to take it. It was interesting and I liked the open discussion format. Dr.Heikes was always willing to answer questions. Homework and essays were relatively easy. If you went to class, the tests were easy too. Overall, a great professor for this class.
