He is the most arrogant, disrespectful, rude, insulting, sarcastic teacher I have ever met! He takes pride in students' failure. He is a new teacher this year at Mohawk and marks work completely unfairly compared to other professors. He picks favourites. He spoke to me as if I was dog telling me to "SIT!"

Smilie is absolutely fantastic. He doesnt take crap from students, if ur there to learn and you do your work he's a great teacher. IF you screw around, talk non-stop or just piss him off, sure he'll be tough, but that's his job, and he doesnt want to waste everyone else's time to babysit immature self obsessed students, and rightfully so.

He's a good guy. He can be a bit pretentious sometimes, but you'll never find a more helpful professor who goes out of his way for you. He has a lot of media background and he brings that to the class. Plus, he's fun to joke with.
