A true gem. Easy and enjoyable class. Lenient grading. Makes hilarious random comments. The best comb over i've ever seen. Take him as often as possible

Costello is great with his cute little comb-over. He loves what he teaches and he loves when students get into it too. His class really isn't too hard as long as you pay attention. He's a really nice guy and makes a lot of cheesey jokes.

Gives good lectures, and if you take good notes, you will do well on the exams. Exams are easy and straightforward, midterm and final. Final in non cumulative. He has us write papers based on books. This is where he is hard, as he grades more on grammar/style than the content. He does allow redos if you ask him. He is retiring soon.

He is kind of goofy. His lectures are boring, but they are easy to follow. Just take good notes, study them, and get an A on his exams. There are a couple papers based on books. Pretty straightforward class.

If you enjoy humorless jokes about Eastern European countries from the '70's... then you might like Costello. He expects you to memorize 100 years of detailed history and gives no guidelines to what you need to know.

Attendance is manadtory, you will write notes from start until finish of each class, never any homework, just quizes, 2 tests, and the final. Not too bad of a class he can be funny at times, pretty easy for the AS IV credit.

This guy knows his stuff...I swear to you he knows everything that happened in history before you read this. But class is very boring. He just talks the whole time. Alot of reading too!! Overall a good guy, but I think its hard to learn the way that he teaches.

He's a good guy and his class is pretty easy. There's just a lot of reading but it's just plot summaries and one big paper.

The class is very boring but very structured. If you take good notes you dont need to read the text book to do well on quizzes and tests, just the supplemental reading books bc he brings a lot of info from them. A good class overall.

Not bad, there is ALOT of reading, otherwise not much more. The tests are not hard, he will not give hints on what will be on the test. Alot of info is covered. Plan on writting alot with notes. He just talks his head off but stp for questions. Easy if you can get the info. Hint he'll tells you to read the full Hubbard book don't he does in class

I cannot believe anyone would give Dr. Costello a bad grade. He is one of the best and most knowledgable teachers at Canisius. His classes may get a little boring, but his totally asinine and hilarious stories always kept my attention. Don't even try reading the text, just write down everything he says and there is no way you won't get an A.

He's a horrible professor that is very aware of his tenure. It was a struggle to stay awake, but there was no point in being awake anyway because he makes no sense. He jumps from topic to topic and talks about many irrelevant things that are not found on the tests. However, the midterm and final were easy.

By far one of the best in history here. If you're not a history major and like to whine a lot I suggest you avoid his classes because you'll annoy the real students. His classes are great!

Most godawful history teacher. Had to tape his lectures because I couldnt' stay awake. . and the class as in the middle of the afternoon! Class readings are irrelevant to what he actually tests on, which I still haven't figured out.

Pretty nice guy, very dry and classes were interesting-make sure you read the book and write down everything he says in his lectures cause his tests are challenging. Also does book reviews- don't take his class if you don't like to read ALOT of boring books.
