Posts old exams and videos explaining old exam solutions on Canvas. Homework not graded, and he reviews hard hw problems day of quiz, so quizzes are easy if you do hw and pay attention that day. Tests were from 5 or 6 P.M. until around 9 (unlimited time within reason). Practice lots of problems, do hw, and use office hours to earn your passing scor

Really passionate about astronomy so the lectures are not boring at all. You will need the textbook or you will fail. He pulls names out of a bucket before each class and gives those kids pop quizzes on the reading so always be prepared! Tests are not hard at all.

I will admit that at the beginning, I didn't like his teaching style. Although, as the first semester went on, I really loved it. If you pay attention and review your notes, you'll do great on the exams. I highly recommend going for help outside of the classroom. It is EXTREMELY useful. I would definitely take another class (: One of my favorite.

Take one class with Toot and you've taken them all. He teaches the same level to the same classes. I took both Astronomy Lab with him and Weather Elements and we literally learned the same material. He is all over the place as far as lesson plans go if he has any. He is not helpful outside of class at all. I would NOT recommend any of his classes.

Easiest physics teacher on campus. Explains everything well. Goes over hws before quizzes and his test are easy he also a really nice guy. If you can, i recommend you take his class

Ugh, terrible professor! He has a "bucket quiz" so while he SAYS attendance isn't necessary, you're done for unless you're there every day until you get a question right. Confusing to listen to, mumbles, speaks in monotone. Is not helpful at all unless you puff up his ego. AVOID AND GO FOR DEGRAFF!!!

Avoid! Only gives you the required help if you see him outside of class to bask in his presence. Gives great pointers outside of class only. If he would just give the entire class the same kind of help that he does to individuals, more people would do well. A major disappointment and a waste of college dollars.

A horrible way to learn physics. Out of touch with the needs of most students. Difficult to learn from. Not enough time clearly defining terms and not enough time spent on homework. He thinks that just doing the homework and reading the text is enough. WRONG! I was going to take astronomy, but not if this guy's teaching it.

Nice guy, very knowledgeable, BUT NOT A GOOD TEACHER! His class benefits only those who are strong in physics. Me: 4.0 GPA (prior), got an 'A' in Physics 1 (different school). He mixes concepts with problem solving all at once. Very confusing! Doesn't spend enough time teaching how to solve problems. Enjoys making problems trickier than necessary.

A great teacher! Some students didn't like him for physics, but it was mainly because they just didn't like physics. I think he is a great teacher and I love his in-class methods of teaching. Astronomy lab was also a lot of fun, although more work than I expected: a very enjoyable class overall.
