I highly recommend studying with Denis. He has so much experience and is so inventive he can decipher any issue you might have with music, saxophone, etc. My time with him was short but everyday I use what he taught me. Denis won't hold your hand though. You have to bring something to the table.

wonderfully exciting jazz ensembles. I was so jealous to find out Denis had started teaching at my alma matter and I didn't have the benefit of attending his classes. The Rowan students should be honored and proud to have this great musician/writer teach at your school. How Denis ever picked Rowan is beyond me, but I'm glad he did.

Since 1972, I have been a huge Maynard Ferguson fan. After I attended Glassboro State (now Rowan) in '75-'79, I continued to follow Maynard and his bands all the way until his death last year. denny is a great teacher, very clear and very helpful all you have to do is show a general intrest and a willingness to learn. if you put in some hard work you will learn alot. dont waste his time. anyone with a negitive opinion of denny is due to the fact that they have no work ethic.

Denis DiBlasio doesn't pull any punches. He tells you what you need to survive. For the most part it is a very positive learning environment unless you are one of those lazy people who doesn't feel the need to practice.

Denny is an honest man. He'll tell you like it is, whether you want to hear it or not, which is good to find in this profession. He is preparing you for the jazz world, where people aren't going to baby you. His knowledge is exquisite, and if you have a genuine problem, he WILL be there for you.
