Prof. Thomas is so much fun! So glad I had him for crim. He always has funny stories to interject and makes the class discussion really interesting & engaging. He kept us laughing & taught us tons. He's super smart and interesting with a wide breadth of a background. Definitely try to go to office hours and just pick his brain. Very cool guy!

Teaching wise, His probably the best Professor in this law school. Watch out for his multiple choice. Get the Q and A Lexis Nexis Books to practice and the Mary Cheh Crim Pro supplement. His essay questions were long but fair. He knows how to teach which is critical in tough classes If you're passionate about criminal issues, he is the BEST.

Exam was tough...you really need to pay attention to the more obscure stuff in the book. Class was really interesting and Thomas is a very engaging teacher.

The final is not a reflection of his class. There is nothing that you can do all semester that will help you get through the multiple choice!

This may not be his area (Crim), but all around an engaging and useful professor. Very good at responding to questions quickly through e-mail, and if he doesn't have the answer right away, he will soon. Exams are medium difficulty as long as you are wary of the multiple choice.

He's a nice guy and a great personality, but at the end of the day he's just another rank "hide the ball" professor. Likes to test the hardest concepts on exam, even if they are hardly used at all in real life. Class practically useless because he hides the ball. I know how the game is played, but a prof. is supposed to help students!

One of the best. Brilliant legal mind, great and interesting lecturer, and helpful. Exams are statute heavy, but he will spend months telling you how he hates rules so it shouldn't be a surprise.

Great Professor. Enthusiastic, Knowledgeable, Engaging and Entertaining. Runs the class with an even hand and ensures all who wish to learn, do. The essay on his final exam take a bit of thought, but nothing that won't pick up on easily. READ THE STATUTE.

Does socratic, but not with a lot of patience - will call on someone else before giving you a chance to think of answer. Near end of semes lets the same 5 people speak. He's funny but all we did in class were hypos. Hypos are great, but not when you don't know the law that's supposed to be applied. I ended up teaching myself crim before the final.

Didn't learn much from this class. The exam seemed lazy, with too tough multiple choice and a sloppily written essay question. I really like him personally, he's affable and a great storyteller. But was a little disappointed with the course as a whole.

I had him for Crim Law, Crim Pro, and Crim Adjud. He is a wonderful prof, entertaining and funny. However, his tests are unduly confusing. They are mostly multiple choice and in my opinion test less of your knowledge of the subject then your ability to recognize his testing style. My advice: Take his classes but take them pass fail when possible

Thomas is excellent. He's fun, he's entertaining, he can REALLY teach, he wants you to THINK...but his exams truly test whether you can stretch your mind and use the material creatively (and this makes them challenging). Take a class with him. He's amazing.

Positively one of the best professors you'll ever experience. Makes an effort to make class entertaining, and fascinating. It isn't just the material either, this man should be on stage. Makes an effort to teach everyone, and uses the socratic method to his advantage. Highly recommend.

Highly entertaining. Socratic. Intimidating. The test is tricky and is 1/2 multiple choice, 1/2 essay. Gives mostly B's; the lowest grade was one D.

Off all my professors, Thomas was the ONLY Teacher. I know no matter how I did on the Final (which was tricky, not hard) I actually learned from this man; which is quite refreshing when you consider feeling like an utter moron after some of the other Finals.

It was intersting at first, but then towards the middle of the semester it got SO tedious and unmoving. Yet again, another professor who lets a select group of students run their mouths off during the class causing others to lose interest. REIGN "EM IN GEORGE!
