Class was an absolute drag. Expects you to memorize so much god damn information for the final and midterm. Gives so many assignments and will call you out in front of the entire class if you miss a class. Really annoying professor and makes you buy a very expensive textbook that you will only use 3 times. Comment:

Professor Ahmad's IB 150 course is tough, especially for an intro course. There are lots of homework assignments, and the tests are long (I filled an entire blue book for the midterm and final). Seems like a lot of work for an introductory course but you learn a lot, and he's a nice guy. Very clear about his expectations so an A is not impossible.

Comment:

This is by far the hardest IB 150 class and the hardest intro class I have taken. All my friends have taken IB classes that were way easier. Get ready for a lot of homework and projects. A midterm and final that requires you to memorize an insane amount of information. A textbook that I only used three pages of for the projects. Look elsewhere.

Bumbles his way through lectures. Provides PowerPoints but rarely teaches from them if ever. Will always pick on certain students. Gave a final presentation, paper, and final test all within 2 weeks of each other. Will openly call people out for stuff like not paying attention or sleeping (for better or for worse).

Comment:

Ahmad is the first professor I've had here at Hofstra that I can tell genuinely cares about my well being and my grade for the class. I've found he likes small signs of respect (saying good morning, talking to him personally). I did this with him, and I feel it's had such a positive effect on my grade. A lot of assignments though. Recommended!

To start this of, he was the second worst teacher I have ever had. I learned nothing in the entire class, except that he likes talking about religion. He completely ignores the syllabus by randomly adding assignments, but gets mad at you if you don't read it, because he doesn't tell you in class about the assignments. Avoid at all cost.

One of the most annoying professors ever. An insane amount of assignments and always giving questions on the discussion board. I'm an A student and he just really bothers me. DO NOT TAKE HIM! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Professor Ahmad is a really nice guy and wants to make the class interesting. If you generally put forth a decent effort you will get an A. He does assign a good amount of work though but none of it is hard. A few cases in the textbook and some papers. Overall he is a good and easy professor to take.

Prof Ahmad is one of the best professors in the Business MGT dept. He is enthusiastic about participation and he truly does want you to learn, understand and take part in discussions. I'm taking MGT 171 with him now and he really is knowledgeable in his field.. He does assign a fair amount of readings and cases & attendance is mandatory

Attendance was mandatory! you had no tests or finals just 4 case studys and 2 other papers anda final , it makes up for not having any test. He was very helpful but he was about at least 5 years behind on his data. other wise i do recomend show up to class and participate he does notice if you dont participate or do anything and you must show up

It's great when he lectures, but when he decides to use Powerpoints, it becomes a bit unclear and jumbled. Gives you the questions to the midterm and final: 5 short essay questions. Also, there are 3 case analyses, 5 short homework assignments, and Blackboard discussions. Overall, I enjoyed the class and his teaching.

Excellent professor, extremely clear, exciting classes with detailed explanations. For business majors, this class is great because the professor is not the conventional "READ THE BOOK and TEST TYPE". No EXAMS, some case studies... you read 5 pages or so and answer the questions in the book. Great class. MUST TAKE HIM if you need the class.

Prof Ahmad makes you work for your grade..something professors should always be doing. The work isn't tedious but it makes you absorb the material easier. He gives out essay questions for exam before hand so all you need to do is study what he tells. I learned alot from this guy. Marketing/IB Majors and Minors should take!

Prof Ahmad is one of the best business professors at Hofstra. He doesn't baby his students, he treats us like adults and expects us to do the work. I learned so much in this class. IB Majors/Minors will benefit the most from him. Exams are essay-based but he gives you the questions before hand, just research and you'll be fine. Amazing Class!

Prof. Ahmad is def. one of the best professors I have encountered in the International Business department. Even though it's an 8 am class, I had no trouble staying focused in his class. By the end you'd be surprised on how much you learned about the subject matter! Exams are essays..just pay attention, take notes, and browse the text..
