It is clear that Dr. Sager loves what he teaches. Lectures were always interesting, well structured, easy to follow and understand. Text book readings were not excessive and simple enough. Always available to answer questions or give advice, and happy to do so.

I took this course as I was actually interested in the era itself, as being a non-history major I got screwed over. Despite this being an intro course, it seems as if he's always relying on prior knowledge of the students; which a lot of us don't have, hence 1st-year course.

He cares about what he is teaching, but doesn't convey his ideas well. He comes off as arrogant and creepy. His teaching style made it hard for me to attend class regularly. This caused my mark to severely decrease, which hurt my otherwise high GPA. Unless you're already really passionate about Medieval Studies, don't take ML100 with him.

I really enjoyed having Dr. Saeger as a prof, kind of a tough marker but had interesting lectures and always kept the class light with jokes. I would definitely take another class with him.

He's such an engaging professor. He makes jokes all the time that make the class content fun and exciting. He's definitely a fair marker, and takes participation seriously. If you are raising your hand to answer questions, he'll noticeably give you respect when it comes to your grades. The textbook was a great secondary source for papers.

Funny and entertaining prof. He keeps the class interesting for sure. He is quite a tough marker, and at least in my class he did not post any of the marks online; I had to e-mail him for my marks. The textbook was pretty much useless, the course pack for tutorials was useful though.

Amazing prof. Will go out of his way to help you with any assignments. Adequate amount of readings considering that this is university, not highschool. He expects you to do work. If you keep up with everything it is easy and highly enjoyable. As long as you attend lectures, pay attention, and do your work, you will get a good mark!

A very interesting course with LOTS of tutorial reading, plus 2 textbooks. The exam question was given in advance so make sure you attend the last day of class to get the exam info. Dr Sager does not give marks away, so make sure you put forth a huge effort. A tough course but I really enjoyed the lectures. Excellent powerpoint presentations!

Great lecturs with lots of material. The scope of the courses is too detailed with LOTS of reading (2 textbooks). The readings for tutorial are intense and sometimes difficult to manage. Otherwise, I would recommend the course but be prepared for lots of reading!

Sager is a great lecturere but the scope of his courses is too broad and detailed. They need to be more focused so there is not so much reading and could be more easily managed with a full student course load.

So approachable, clear instructions, wants his students to do well! You have to do the work/read! Makes you earn your grade for sure. Flexible on due dates if you approach him beforehand. Does not tolerate phones in class. Stops lectures and singles you out, so don't waste our time texting on your phone :)

Very good prof. very approachable, very good with students. However, he DOES expect you to put effort into the class, and is an average marker. Don't expect a free A, but you will certainly learn and it will be a fun ride.

I've had this prof for a few times. His teaching style is amazing, but his personality is creepy. Since his change over from TA to Prof he does carry an air about him. Wouldn't really recommend.

Prof is a nice guy, but kind of arrogant. Since leaving the TA field and moving directly to Professor he holds and air about him. Very hard marker. A little creepy personality wise. Way TO MANY readings for his courses. He teaches it like a seminar when it's not. Difficult meeting his expectations when students have so much on their plate.
